This phone ships with Protect Treble that'll fix that. MyBB posted about that here and here. There is one item missing from your "Feature" list... Apple offers OS updates and security updates for longer than a year while Huawei only offers for about a year going by my experience with the P9 Plus. Apple also makes those updates available immediately whereas Huawei takes over 6 months to apply those updates if you are lucky. To those who will blame the carrier for updates being slow on Android devices that is a valid point but in this case the security updates to broadpwn, blueborne and krack are now available with no comment or commitment from Huawei on when the P9 range and other phones will get these updates. Now if mybb were a proper investigative site instead of taking Huawei's money and keeping quite they would ask them the hard questions like 1: When will you update your devices to the latest security updates? 2: Why are you so slow in incorporating the security updates to your devices? But meh mybb will ignore this and keep on taking Huawei (and for that matter Samsung) monies and not ask them the real questions...
/I was going to start a post called "MyBroadbands Keepers" and type this all out in there but posting this here will serve my purpose as well...
With or without Treble, you are still relying on the device manufacture to push the update through. At least with Apple which is both the software and hardware manufacturer, there is a better chance of a patch actually being pushed.
(That said, all device manufactures are more than happy to make their hardware obsolete in order to force new sales. Just look at the wonderful Logitech Harmony scandal that is busy brewing - gizmodo)

AFAIR they mentioned at least 3 years of updates to be pushed for the Mate.
They sucker you in with that line. They say 3 years of updates but they could easily only ever release one update per year. For example the P9 range (yeah, yeah I am harping on with it but it is a perfect example) there have only been one or two updates in Android 6 and then one update to Android 7 in Feb 2017. We are now sitting with a device vulnerable to 3 massive exploits and no commitment from Huawei on when it will be updated. Take their updating of the P9 range and apply it to the P10 and you probably sit with the same experience and then apply it to the Mate series. All I want is mybb to ask them the hard questions like they have done in the past but ...

jammio is your P9 the plus range or standard? The plus range is on Android 7.
To those above who have had updates great... Just wait until the new flagship is released then you will see the updates drop down to a trickle of near nothing...![]()
