Huawei might consider buying Nokia

The Nokia CEO is a fool. He and Ballmer make good buddies. Both need to go.

If Nokia had an Android offering they would already be in a far better position. I will buy a Nokia top-end phone with Jelly Bean on it if it is offered. So will many others I know.

If this Huawei comment can get Nokia's shareholders to pressurise management to go with Android also it will be a win. That is what I hope for.

This is absolute hogwash :D

Forbes already endorsed Nokia's decision to choose WP over Android, based on current performance.

Further, this is very speculative of Huawei, they don't even have the capacity to buy Nokia - perhaps only the device division (but, that's if Nokia wants to sell). But, why would they. We all know Nokia is so much more than just devices. They (Nokia) are going to buy Siemens. Now, that's a more plausible speculation.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

Now that I will pay to see.

Siemens trading at $107.29 with over 881 million shares makes it about $ 90 bil market cap (revenue $78.2 billion for 2012 and $7.5 billion pure profit)
Nokia Trading at $3.89 with 3.7 billion shares placing it at about $14 bil market cap

I have a feeling you have noooooo clue what you on about.

Ah, I saw that one coming.

It's actually the other way round. It seems Nokia may want to sell its 50% shares in Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN).

But, it is all speculative as well. It seems NSN is too valuable for Nokia to even consider selling it.

So, nothing is for sale at Nokia. Period.

It is up to shareholders. The price already jumped just with this rumour. The shareholders may be keen and Elop can't stop that.

I think this quarter's results will force any pro-Android shareholders to seriously reconsider their suggestions of OS diversification.

WP all the way.
