I'm now getting a code 19 error. Seems registry entries are missing or corrupted. Could I use a registry cleaner to clean out everything related to the modem and reinstall. My other 3g modem works fine though
This is an issue we picked up last year November with the Geeko Modems that we sell , they also use the Huawei chipsets
We fixed the issue like this below , although it was with Windows 7 it might work with XP
The issue regarding the Installations of the HSDPA 3G modem dongle with Windows 7 Desktop PC’s or Notebooks
The issue is not with the modem but with software conflicts during the installation process.
To successfully install this device on your PC or Notebook please follow these steps:
1) Please ensure that Your Antivirus disabled before during the installation process
2) Make sure that your PC or Notebook Internet Browser is cleaned by deleting the temporary Internet Files, Cookies and Saved Password.
3) Please ensure that your registry is cleaned by using third party software such as Ccleaner or Advance System Care
4) Plug in the HSDPA 3G modem dongle and Sim card in a vacant USB port,
5) The device should Autorun the software installation.
6) If not then manually run the Autorun.exe file(application) and follow the steps
7) The HSDPA 3G modem should now be configured and working on your PC or Notebook.
Is both modems you have using the same software or differant Alan
What modems & what software?
Getting the same error plugging it into a differant USB port?
