No pricing on that pre-order hey. Just checked the site now, can only enter your details to be notified later.

Yeah, sorry, should've said price is TBC. Apparently releasing on November 25th.

I contacted Huawei and received a reply from them. Unfortunately, Google and Huawei will not be releasing the Nexus 6P officially in SA. At least not yet in the near future. The device will, however, probably be imported by smaller players. This means that it will not be stocked by services providers.

Next interesting fact is the massive price increases in the device outside the US. Even if this device will be imported by smaller players, we can expect looking in the low to mid 10K's for the entry level, which is on par with the UK official price as announced by Google.

So, again, SA getting shafted. But, Google has not been keen doing business with SA for some time when it comes to tech.

This going to change anyones mind? Nexus 6P torture test:

The screen cracking after he scratched it a few times has me a bit concerned. :(

Crazy! I had my heart set on buying one of these and importing it. I was so close to buying a 10K device off eBay. Thank you for showing this. F**k the Nexus! This is what you get when a search engine joins the chinese and builds a phone.

Lol, let's wait a while though before we completely write it off.

Big G might realize there's a problem and fix it. Hopefully anyway.

I still really love this phone and hope any issues will get fixed soon.

Seems like that was a pre production model

He applied heat to the gorilla glass in the first video. That's not how gorilla glass is suppose to work.

This Nexus 6P bend test is horrifically unfair, mildly entertaining

If you want a scientifically rigorous analysis of the Nexus 6P's durability, this isn't it. Please close this window and advance with the productive parts of your day.

The chronology of those events matters: it's only after heat is applied to the screen that we see it break (with relative ease) in the video, and indeed it snaps at the exact point of the heat marks. So please, don't take this too seriously or let it affect your purchasing decision. Just take it for what it is: beautiful in its sheer, horrifying nihilism.

Well I suppose that this is always the risk of phones getting thinner and larger .Most devices these days are fragile (Granted some more than others) , bottom line I guess is if you get something like the Nexus 6P make sure that you get a good case/cover for it , something with a hard back and not a thin tpu type cover .
