So the P10 is cheaper but also a decent phone. The S8 is a clear winner by far.

Coming from a LG G4 which one would you choose? I like the S8 but everyone is going for it so I'm leaning more to the S8 but yeah not sure.

Honestly bud I would go the s8 - I have tried LG, Huawei etc and always land up back at Samsung. Just my 2c

Mate 9 reviews are better than the P10. Better camera and battery life. I would chose the Mate 9 over the P10 any day. Between Samsung and Huawei it would come down to preference, Mate 9 is a very capable device.

Huawei still hasn't sold me... I have set up friends and family phones, and there is just something about it I just don't like... "too much like iPhone" is the feelz I'm getting when I work with it.

Take a long look at the LG G6. I had P9 Lite which was really nice, but got the G6 3 weeks ago. Fantastic!!!

I was they same until they introduced the app drawer and theme functions. Now I love my Mate 9.

The P10 Plus spec wise is very similar to the S8 though. The P10 Plus does have a better camera and 6GB RAM vs 4GB RAM on the S8 so it should never lag. P10 Plus has a slightly faster CPU which is a plus but you won't notice that difference at all and both have the same GPU.

P10 Plus has a higher capacity battery. Wonder if I can get a hands on with the S8 and P10 Plus.

I also briefly saw the Huawei P10 on the vodacom website with pricing of R549 per month. Saw they removed it now.

Forgot to mention the leaked Vodacom price included a free Huawei P8 lite with any P10 deal. Nice deal to be honest.

If Samsung brought in dual sim S ranges, I would go with them. They don't, so I would only consider a dual sim flagship as I cannot go back to single sim. So, P10 from Telkom / Cell C to ensure dual sim'ness

S8 all the way.

Huawei P10 Plus is cheaper, better screen, more ram, more build in antennas for better wifi and cellular service and 2 free screen repairs for the duration of your cellular contract.

Depends. P10 price wise should not be competing with the S8. It's good but not S8 good and that's coming from a current iOS user.
Might get a P10 lite or a P9 at a cheap cheap price now luckily though :D

+1

If you don't want an S8 because everyone has one, then the G6 is the obvious choice.

LG will always be the appliance maker and Huawei is a Chinese sheep in wolves clothing.

S8 all the way although I don't like the narrow design.

At least Samsung will release security updates. MTN bought Mate 9 which I love but the android security patch is still Oct 2016. Huawei don't update local phones in my experience.

No matter the phone, if you are running a custom launcher like Go Launcher you can modify the interface exactly like you want it. Want an iPhone or Win10 like interface? There are themes for them. I have had a look at some Samsung phones and I guess you have to like the launcher to work with it all the time. I hate it personally. how do the LG and Huawei stack up with their default launchers?

Go Launcher. Geezus. Why don't you just pick the worst on of all!

I started using it a few years back and got it set just the way I liked it. Could never get other launchers to the same place. I had a good go at most of them. Maybe it is laziness or I am to specific in what I want.

so you want ugly with gimmicks? siesa

Nova or gtfo

I'm actually running stock launcher now for the past 2 days on my S8, just to see if it's as kark as it was previously.... they have improved a lot tbh. Still missing on or two key features for me, 1 being to add gestures to the home screen so I can bring down the notification bar by just swiping down (yes i know about gestures on the fingerprint reader, but that just doesn't come naturally at this stage)
