At least Samsung will release security updates. MTN bought Mate 9 which I love but the android security patch is still Oct 2016. Huawei don't update local phones in my experience.

How? I thought Huawei updates all phones

I have read that Huawei are amongst the worst at updates, when they do release them they release them very late

They're not too bad recently.

My P9 got Android 7.0 which I thought was late, but I see Samsung still haven't released for their devices? I thought Samsung would be far better

Do you mean locally or Internationally? Samsung released Nougat back in January for S7 range Internationally, right now the S6 range and Note5 are busy getting the Nougat Update.

Locally it's down to network, if I'm not mistaken Voda released Nougat a while ago, not sure about the others.

The Mate 9 came with Nougat out the box. I'm referring to the monthly Google Security patchs that Samsung et al keep up to date. I'm uptight that a current flag ship device is not being supported with these updates. It is now been out over 6 months and has never has the security patches applied. Pathetic

Na, I'm stuck with a Huawei P9 from MTN that last saw a security patch in September 2016. Let alone Nougat... :whistling:

Crap, time flies, it feels like only yesterday the Mate 9 was launching.

Yah, that is not good. One thing Samsung are pushing well is the Security Updates, even my almost 3yearold Note 4 recently got a Security Update.

That said, Samsung themselves are not great. All these OEMs could do a whole lot better, hopefully Android O's Project Treble improves the poor state of Android updates.

On s7 and s8 can you not just change the sim tray for dual sim tray? I know other devices its different models.
