Hi Guys

I see telkom mobile has the 5s and p7 for under R300pm. My 3 questions are...

which phone is better? Based on people who have either or both. Moving from a nexus 4

And secondly how is telkom mobile as a network. Current on cell

Lastly are there any other sub R300 deals?

The p7 is a better phone, the iphone 5s has one big handicap for 2015 standards and that is the small screen size. My dad has the p6 and it is an impressive phone,I didn't expect that from Huawei.

As far as j can see the only major disadvantage of the 5S is the screen size. Other than that it's a well built; fast; good looking smartphone. It pretty much just comes down are you an Android or iOS man? I personally prefer iOS & find it great on many levels.

If it were me, I'd go for the 5S. No particular reason other than I have a soft spot for iPhones. I've owned both and they're great... Just choose the OS you want to use

And in terms of stability on the huawei?
On my it matches up quite closely to the GS5.

Personally I have never owned an iphone or ipad. Currenly on my third android phone so I dont mind the OS, but then again maybe changing to IOS will be good?

I know of several people IRL who will endorse changing from Android to iOS, must be plenty on this forum too. Once you've learned the differences, I doubt there will be much looking back. iOS does everything that most people need in a phone. It just works and is always fast, smooth, and crash free. The last time I had to reboot must have been 1.5 - 2 years ago, I cannot remember it.

Maybe create a thread for those who've moved?

iPhone 5s is in demand, if you don't like it you could always sell it for a fair bit more than what the Huawei will be worth.

If you're not a heavy gamer or app addict, ever thought about Windows Phone? I've pretty much come to the point where there are just a certain number of apps I use -all of which are available on Windows Store - so I've decided to make a switch. Try something new. Those Lumia's are looking mighty fine these days (and their cameras are second to none -mid to high end models)...Windows Store is really coming along nicely.
But yeah, if you're an app-whore...then it's best to stick with android or ios. :p
Just thought I'd throw that out there. The world doesn't revolve around only ios and android :)

I looked at the windows phones. But I haven't found a decent deal with data and minutes? Can you suggest any that you saw? I need to have a awesome camera and decent memory to store stuff

I'm looking to buy off contract, so I can't help you in that department, sorry. If I come across anything though, and you're still looking, I'll pm you.

iPhone camera is awesome. Not only the image quality every time, but the Camera app and all its intuitive settings including inbuilt editing, the speed of tap to focus and shutter release, the consistently good photos without having to take 3 attempts due to low light, etc.

Point, click, and you'll always have excellent results. I enjoy using the volume buttons with my thumb as the shutter release, in those 'spontaneous' moments.

But is the huawei a good option? Is it really comparable to a s4 or s5

the nexus 4 and 5s are the same size if I'm not mistaken?

Check battery life for the Huawei. They had an issue with that at some point

Better than an S4 IMO. Had that too... If you like android, stick to it unless you want a change. Battery life was better on the Huawei though

I have the P6, had a Iphone 5
Iphone5s all the way. slow and sluggish android cannot compete with IOS.
