Huawei P8 launched

If they can land the 16GB here for under R8k I'm in. Add a 32gb microSD and this phone will rock.

I have been blown away by the Mediapad T1 tablet and this has made me a big Huawei fan now!

And now I see why Huawei is catching up to Samsung. They have put together a powerful yet affordable phone.

Available in June as well, perfect timing for my upgrade.

From what I've seen online, the 64Gb P8 is around 250 Euro less than the 64Gb S6...Samsung's troubles are going to continue at this rate.

Direct exchange rate conversion before import duties puts the 16gb at just over R7k here. Direct exchange rate before duties for the S6 32GB is R10500. That is a big difference in money for a cash purchase of a handset. Build quality wise, both seem to be top notch and close to equal. Just depends how the performance is of the Huawei.

This is pretty much as I have posted previously, Huawei is serious about taking this market, they have major R&D resources and have really upped their marketing campaigns. The previous phones were just the dress-rehearsal and there's more to come.

I choose my phones on specs more than brand, and this looks like a winner, coming in at the right price points.

Huawei has been making some great phones recently but looking at the specs of the P8 you could probably pick up an LG G3 for less with better specs.

If Huawei can stays up-to-date with Android OS updates, it would be a worthwhile option
