So my daughter has the P8 Lite 2017 (got it end of last year) and has been working well up until this last 2 weeks.

The phone keeps saying there is no more storage so she has to go in and delete apps but then next day same issue again. The phone has a micro sd card installed but still get this problem.

Anyone have any suggestions as how to fix this please as everyday she needs to delete apps as it keeps saying memory full even if nothing new has been added.

I suppose I can try a backup and then do a complete factory restore and hopefully that fixes it.

Is there anyway to have apps install directly to sd card instead of phone memory?

Factory reset may be the easiest. Sounds like a malicious app.

Alternatively check the Whatsapp folder in the file folder on the device. What a lot of people do not know is that pictures sent via whatsapp stays on your device even if you delete it from the gallery.
Whatsapp creates a copy which is stored in the whatsapp images folder under sent.
These images may be taking up the space without her knowing it.

I do not recommend installing apps to the memory card. Memory cards seem so go bad very quickly and can cause issues down the line.

That’s for the reply.

Will have a look at WhatsApp folder and see what it says.

I thought originally could have been a virus of some sorts maybe - she is only 11 and uses the phone mainly for YouTube, music apps and pictures and videos so first thought was images and videos taking up all the space but even after clearing it all still get that issue of no free space etc.

So can I just empty the WhatsApp folder if I see there is a lot of space being used?

Delete the images in the sent folder. Those are copies.
Is she on wi-fi? sytem apps may be updating and that is why space keeps disappearing.

Also go to settings - storage and memory and see what is taking up all of the space.

I'm also using a "P8 lite (2017)" & Huawei's storage management is utterly useless. after a a few months of battling with it's extremely limited internal storage, i found an APP that has helped me to easily find & delete/move a few large & redundant files which freed up loads of wasted space...
the AP is called "Storage Analyser".
There are many APPs with the same title but i highly recommend the one created by Richard Hart. (it's icon resembles a memory card behind a small pie-chart)
or GOOGLE for: "com.rjhartsoftware.storageanalyzer"

The reason i recommend this specific APP is because i've found that other similar APPs won't show or allow management of individual files (only folders) and those with an automatic cleanup feature end up deleting files that cause other APPs to malfunction or lose personalised settings etc.

PS. take good care of that phone - it's screen will shatter if dropped even a short distance & replacing the screen costs ½ the price of the phone itself!!
(oh, & it's rear cover is made from equally fragile glass!)

I'm not sure who's quoted you for a LCD but the trade price is under R200 plus VAT! The back copy is R20 plus VAT both OEM parts. This is for the black LCD/Back and even the gold colour is only R120 more expensive!

Hey where do they fix the Huawei p8 lite at that price I would like to fix mine.. It's bad really
