Huawei shakes things up again in the entry level smartphone level market. Following up on the previous year's entry level device the Huawei y5 2019, now comes the Huawei Y5p.

Its no secret that for now Huawei Devices are android based but are not accessing the Google Mobile Services but fortunately they have replaced that with the ever improving Huawei Mobile Services . The Huawei Y5p is running on Android 10 and EMUI 10.1 with Huawei Mobile Services, through the Huawei App Gallery you have access to the majority of your everyday apps. Because Huawei has gone with the open source root you also have other App Stores at your disposal like Findorra and Aptoide. Now that the elephant is out of the room we can explore the Huawei y5p..

True to its low budget label huawei has had to sacrifice a few things from the previous version. The latest entrant is coming with a 5'45 inch 740 x 1440 pixel screen a little bit smaller than the predecessor but a fairly good screen for a low budget device. The Y5p has 3 cameras the Selfie camera a 5MP that records a 720p @ 30fps video, the rear dual camera has a 8MP camera with a 2MP camera for depth capable of shooting a 1080p @30fps video. The camera has HDR and panorama functionality. The rear cameras and led flash seat in a cool looking square bulge at the back of the phone. In my long term review will share pictures shot with the Y5p versus the 13MP on the Y5 2019.

The Huawei y5p has a 2g ram and 32g storage expandable to 512g using the dedicated micro SD card slot. The device is a dual sim device depending from whom you buy some service providers disable the dual sim function .The Huawei Y5p does not have a fingerprint sensor but has a good and responsive face ID that utilies the 5MP front camera together with the pin and pattern for your privacy. The battery is a 3020 MaH and it does take you through the day with a single charge wity average to heavy usage and it has power save function that helps save power.

What does it mean to be a budget phone in the South African devices market and to me it means being Sub R2000, the huawei y5p is coming in at R1 899.00 on the Huawei online store with a free bluetooth speaker. The device is available in midnight black and phantom blue, check out the Special offer by clicking link below

Lol no thanks my Doogee Y9 plus comes with 4gb ram and 64gb of storage for only R2300.
Thats why its not a sub R2000 phone and am able to walk into a Huawei service centre for any technical issues and affordable parts replacement. I don't have to go to cash crusaders

Got a one year warranty. Compared to the recently launched X95 this is not a bad phone though with double the storage.

It's a pretty neat phone when taking into account it's competition. I was going to get myself the new Nokia 1.3 or Samsung A3 core but I might get this instead.
