HUGE Data Usage

Google account and Facebook.

I think the Facebook app has a feature that auto uploads your pictures... It might be that. Other than that, mine just syncs contacts, which can't take that much of data.

Looking at my phone, Google on wants to sync contacts, Gmail, app data, calendar, People details, Internet, Tasks and Picasa Web Albums. I only have the first two turned on and I do the others periodically. Try to turn the nonessential ones off. Picasa web albums is another likely culprit to chow data.

Your other problem would be that most likely, the Google services and sync will all turn up as one "process" on a firewall. So just trying to block one of completely would also be blocking the rest. This is what happens on my phone (a HTC Desire S) with Droidwall installed. But by keeping very few things syncing, I used to managed 1-2MBs of use a day, until I recently got a data bundle. :D

Used to have the same problem - I think it was Facebook/stock gallery app uploading my pics or downloading them to My gallery; there was an album with access to my online pics. Frankly, I don't actually remember what caused it (was still Google services) but I did solve it (stock ICS). Just head into accounts and tick only services that you actually use.

I believe this is correct.

Widespread issue on custom ROMS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2379690

I think it's only related to the Nexus 4 though...

Looks like I will have to flash stock 4.3

What ROM are you using?

Switching off access to my location and turning off Google now removes this problem
