Fight for Adapt IT

Adapt IT’s independent board should promote competition between suitors to get the highest offer possible for Adapt IT shareholders, but instead it is playing favourites.

This is the view of Huge Group CEO James Herbst, one of the parties looking to acquire Adapt IT.

Two companies, Huge Group and Volaris, have made offers to acquire Adapt IT.

Even after all of Huge's 2yr old temper tantrums, I tend to side with them on this one actually.

They have put a much better offer on the table, and this should force Volaris to up their offer to bring it into the fair range.

Yeah, the fact that Volaris has not reacted and is still being preferred is causing somewhat of a stink in the air.

Their argument could be that their offer can't be compared since it is a cash offer and therefore guaranteed whereas the share offer is only guaranteed at the share price at the time of exit so is more "risky".

Agreed. I think Volaris will have to increase its offer to be competitive.

100% on this, but Huge has to drop by 30% (near as damnit) to be similar to Volaris' offer.. and looking at their share price over the last while that looks fairly unlikely.

Why the keen interest in Adapt?

Does Huge and Adapt's interests align?
What is in it for Huge?
A while back they acquired another company, and rebranded as Huge Networks down in East London. I forget their name now but it seems that they are no stranger to acquisitions.

But isn't the issue here that Volaris are offering cash while Huge are making an all share offer. Everyone loves crash and Volaris know that which is why they have no reason to up their offer. They're risking more.

Its part of the issue, but it all depends on what the acceptable spread between a cash offer and a share swap offer is... for me the spread favours Huge at the moment.

Nice keyboard, I have been looking for something slimline like that for a while.
Cant quite make out the model from the pic though, got any details?
Certainly, It's the Dell KM717 Keyboard and Mouse Set. I paid R1300 for it (Takealot's price is utter madness). I got it because I switch between a few systems, and it has three modes of operation - two Bluetooth, and one dongle. So I have a dongle in one machine, and the other two I use BT and can switch between them on the fly. Just a word of warning - the mouse is rubbish and is the worst aspect of the set.

The KB is quite nice, with keys that feel similar to the Apple Wireless KB that I had with nice positive feedback and engagement.

Ah cool thanks, I like the idea of that functionality. I use a Logitech Mx master 2s which has the same 3 way switching so it would be useful between my Windows box and MBP.
