Huge lag in 25man

Does anyone know if Combat Log still causes lag if you are in normal chat mode (ie can't see the combat log)?

Also, does disabling actually help with Latency or is it only FPS and dc's

there is a problem with saix, this issue has an open FQ with saix, and they are currently investigating where the issue may reside. I have been in talks with webafrica for the last few days regarding this issue..
 
Ah cool, thanks Semaphore.

I didn't get a chance last night to test it in a raid. Will only be able to test on Sunday I hope.
 
Gotten any feedback from webafrica semaphore?

Last night did seems a bit better, but was spiking badly alot later during the evening and made it hard to keep up, plus ventrillo disconnected 4 times during the evening.
 
Telkom phoned me this morning to confirm the stability of my line, they where under the impression it was a line fault, which in reality it was not. But last night my latency seemed fine i did not have any spikes per say, the highest it went up to was about 440, it then went back down to 340, and stabilized at around 312. This morning my gf was playing before i left for work and it was around 280. So perhaps the fault was not with saix but perhaps telia having some packet loss on there network, i will do some other tests tonight to confirm.
 
I also saw higher latencies at Telia 2 days ago. Haven't checked last night though.
 
Hey Method,

How did the proxy go? Any luck? I'm happily doing battles in WG now which was the worst and actually getting some kills in. I don't have to hang around at the back with itchy fingers unable to do anything for fear of the all too common disconnects. I can also happily raid 25 man again and now going to start looking for a guild that raids 25 man content. It will be good to get back in to it.

Anyway, enjoy the happy raiding experience :)

So, I have now tried lowerpings.com...does the same :(

Removed all proxies and running just an unshaped ADSL and getting around 290-350ms.

I've also removed most of my addons (Recount, Carbonite, Auctioneer, etc) and disabled my Combat log.

It runs slightly better now, although I still have some spikes now and then. Annoying, but at least I can raid somewhat.

Thing that pisses me off is I can't get full DPS out of my mage...10mans I am able to hit 5.8k DPS, but in 25man I get around 3.8 on same boss :(

Thanks for the help though...it has slightly improved, although I think it is absolute bullocks that we can't use addons and combat log like everyone else :(

Method does your tracert through your server go through Level3? If so they have a subsea cable failure which is estimated to be fixed before 28 July and its causing high congestion and latency around their networks. This is what causing my WoW latency and most iBurst users through Vodacom Business. Telia also showing some spikes now and then too.

Hey guys,

New to the site in search of the same answers to the question, just resently started playing WOW and doing Naxx 25man, but I can not start a boss fight, or hit 1 button on my keyboard or I DC.

What is this proxy you guys are talking about? Will that help me and where can I register with 1?

I have

512mb line, unshaped with Webafrica as my ISP.

We are 2 ppl playing WOW on the same line
 
Argh! Still having issues on bosses with a lot of detail like Iron Council...

This is SO F-ing annoying >.<
 
Yep, I had 550ms on my unshaped...which is normally at around 290ms :(

What the hell is happening...
 
Can anyone confirm that switching to verison solves the problem or is the problem effecting all service delivery

I have a similar issue if not the same as you.

about 5 or 6 weeks ago it started and I used to get a frozen screen but still hear the game sounds. However I now generally just freeze up and DC but only in 25 man raids. I can however still feel the game isnt running as "Smooth" as it should when im just moving about and in BG`s I notice the "Latency" effect.

I initially thought it was my graphics card, there was a post about ATI 9870 Sapphire series having issues with the frequency it used. I tried their suggested fix altho I dont have the Sapphire model but I do have an ATI 9870 card. It Didnt solve my problem. I even swapped it out to and tried a GeForce 9600.

Recently I re-installed Windows on a new 500GB HDD, purchased a new Asus P5 Mainboard and CPU Core2Duo and 4Gb DDR2 1066Mhz Ram. No change at all, still freezing and DC in 25 mans.

I used to run a PC with about 60% of this ones power with about 34 addons, using a custom UI and even recorded WWS reports with no issues at all in 25man BT, Sunwell and 25 man Naxx. I was always in the top 3 on DPS and truly enjoyed the game.

I use SAIX as my ISP on an ADSL 4Mb Unshaped account, Play on EU Aerie Peak.

I have given up trying to raid, Im an officer in my raiding guild and I cant raid. Its very frustrating, and if I cant get this resolved I will probably be asked to move out to the sister guild which is a social guild. Which is the last thing I want to do. I play the game to raid nothing else interests me in game other then raiding,

So in short, I have tried different hardware done a re-install which was a real pain. So Method and others if you do resolve your problem Please post here to let us know, I will do the same.

I have the same issues as you...upgraded CPU and RAM and I have a 9600GT.

I'm also a officer in our guild which makes this even more annoying. I recently tried disabling all addons and still got the problem, so I can't see how it is addon related.

Also did registry hacks and proxies and changed between SAIX and IS.

I think it is a problem in SA tbh...anoter friend of mine also in SA has the exact same problems, but he was on ADSL and iburst...both did the same. He has a monster PC, so it can't be hardware related either.

I'm clueless...I have no idea what else to do :(

Try disabling all the addons and do it again, i know there are some addons that do intense queries on the data when you enter boss fights, this could possibly be causing wow to kick you out. Perhaps try changing your graphics settings to a lower setting as-well, if it is a continuous thing its not the connection because else you would disconnect else where.

Ye tried all that :( Disabled combat log as well, which helped a lot with FPS, but not in 25man boss fights.

Thing is, my latency is fine (so it says) on about 350ms max while raiding and it doesn't go up in a fight. FPS does go less than 20 either in boss fights. This is what is getting to me...I don't know where the problem is...seems like a bottle neck issue somewhere on the net o_O
