Hi guys

So for I don't know how long I've been getting huge lag spikes in 25man raids. Mostly on boss fights.

Tried with and without Gamemax, shaped and unshaped. I have a 4096kbps line.

Anyone know if it's a SA problem or something I can do about it?

I reinstalled my Windows the weekend and did a fresh install. Most of my addons are disabled.

This is extremely frustrating :(

Please, any advise!

There is a problems through Saix at the moment since 29th of June

you wont ever not lagg with telkom :( and if your getting 400ms its not lagg in our country ;)

That might be, but I've been having this issue for longer than 2 weeks...it's been a few months now. When WotLK was released I was able to do 25man raids with no problem.

Now I can't. I go from being top DPS to 14th due to DC's and extremely high lag as soon as the boss fight starts.

Seriously need advice :(

try axxess pay as you go SHAPE and dont use any proxys

Proxies are bad for heavy data fights (KT etc) and you can try disabling the combat log completely to reduce the amount of information being sent to your client.

Strange, I use a proxy and finished a whole NAXX with 0 disconnets or lag spikes. The only time I ever get disconnected is with adsl 24 hours resets.

What proxy are you using?

I get lag spikes even without a proxy, but I don't get disconnected if I don't use the proxy.

I have just recently started playing again on lightbringer.
I have a Neotel Prime connection, 1gb cap.
I was very aprehensive about trying to access an EU server from such a connection but tried anyway.
Well i have a constant 600-800ms, in the red..
But the lag is so minimal for such a high number.
I started off by running a few bgs, absulutely fine. Im taking 0.25s lag.
Tried 10man naxx, also fine, no problems.
I tried 25man OS with my lock, 100% fine.
The only issue was that it was sucking my cap down like crazy :P
I even tried 10man Uld lastnight and had no issues.
Although, to be honest, i was unable to talk on vent, as others would only hear what i said like 6-10s later. Not a big deal.
Did 14 3v3 games as a healer, and 6 2v2 as DPS. No probs again..
People are always badmouthing Neotel, but i have nothing bad to say at all.
And all this is done with the phone/modem sitting on my couch picking up a MAX of 2 out of 5 bars signal strength.

Hey Method

I've also been DCing in 25 man raids so I decided to try a proxy. I have also disabled combat logs for self to try and help.

I was initially on iBurst and getting about 800-1200ms pings but never disconnected. I signed up to gamemax and it brought my pings down to about 300-400ms which was fantastic. 10 man naxx was great, 15 man BGs were great, 10 man everything was great but the problems started coming in when i was in 25 man content which is all our guild focused on. I attributed it to iBurst not being able to transfer the data from gamemax and it could never be GM, they are a proxy with presumably huge bandwidth.

So, what I did was I sold my iBurst modem and bought MTN 3g and I was happy as anything, 300ms pings and 10 man was perfect. There were however 25 man issues in uldar. I would disconnect on all of the fights where there was lots of aoe, 3.16GHz core 2 duo with a GTX280 so, i put all my gfx on min and still disconnected. I disconnected sometimes even just going in to General and Yogi before the fight even started, DAMN i was pissed. WG was completely unplayable.

I eventually subscribed to LowerPing and I am happy to say that in 25 man i rarely have more than 500ms on MTN with 0-1 bars (really bad signal which isn't great but it at least keeps me connected) and i can actually play WG now without ever disconnecting.

I'm finally enjoying the game again and I can raid 25 man again which is awesome.

The answer for me, GameMax doesn't have the bandwidth for 25 man raids but awesome for 10 man and less while LowerPing is fantastic all around.

GL and please let us know how it goes if you do try out lowerping and if it works for you.

Thanks Anuke! Will try it :)

Hope it works, as I really struggle being top DPS on a boss with this kind of latency issues. Ended up 14th last night

Am also having similar issues have had to take my self out of 2 raids in the last week becasue of this.

Problem I have with lowping etc is blizzard will at some point catch you out and ban you.

Its not against T&C to use proxies to lower your latency. What happens is when u constantly change from one server to the next in the list Blizz starts suspecting you of account hacking or being a gold dealer. Stick to one server on LP and u should be fine.

Be sure you've disabled all spammy addons (recount, questhelper) and disable your combat log.

last 2 weeks = Latency Heaven

800ms-1100ms +

useally I get 350-600ms on 4mb dsl unshaped

Did a quick VOA last and on emalon last night latency spiked to 1400ms

3rd week now...

A lot of the DC's are also a result of the game itself.
We have guild members in EU getting DC'd at specific boss encounters all the time. A prime example is the Thorim encounter where the NPC's are doing their thing in the arena... As soon as the encounter starts you get people DC'ing due to massive burst of data being sent to clients.

There was discussions about it on the wow forums, Blizzard is aware of it... We just feel it worse since our data has to travel further before our combat log explodes with information. Disabling the combat log on fights like that made it possible for me to get minimal disconnects and ofc the buffering on my NIC I had to tweak.

I've never disabled the combat log myself - how is it done?
My brother is continually getting dc'd in 25 mans, never in 10 mans - and he has rarely had an issue with this before.
