Hulp selecting external HDD

Even with accounts, sometimes I still get stuff from Makro and other retailers.
The savings are negligible on single items... often I am there and it does not make sense to run around for 1 or 2 items.
How much would you save buying a 1TB drive plus USB enclosure from suppliers VS the 1TB Makro Toshiba for R699 ?
R50 - R80 ? Or more ?

More convenient if you don't have accounts, yes!

I have the the same Vantec dual and a single one - really great devices!
I use 2x 1Tb 2.5" externals for portability...

EDIT: I bought a Freecom and a Manhattan dock, but they tend to struggle with the bigger hdd's.

I agree with the driving around to save a few rand - too old for that! Luckily the 3 or 4 places I go to are very close to each other (3 blocks apart). I have a 500Gb version of that Verbatim - 2 years and still going strong.

I remember seeing a 2TB Seagate freeagent desk on special this weekend at either incredible or game for R999. Can't remember which

Hi - I am a Samsung fan... Check around Game / Makro - they are great
