This is one of those "Wrath is on the way, & I need to get ready!" threads :p

Of the far too many toons I've levelled to 70 I'm going to be focussing on my hunter and my druid at first, as those are my oldest & favourite toons, but there's neither of them in more than quest reward / instance drop blues with the odd purple, so they're in serious need of some loving.
Now, I'm not in a Kara / ZA guild so getting gear from there will be a case of whenever I can get into a PUG, and the same goes for heroics for badges really. And I will not farm BG's for welfare epics, so I'm left with crafted gear being the most likely source of upgrades for these two toons.
I picked up the Shadowprowler chest & Belt of power for the druid yesterday, but any suggestions as to what other gear - and spec improvements - I can look at, I'd appreciate it :)

Thanks in advance, & here are the armoury links for the 2 toons :

Someone told me not to worry about doing instances or raids before WOTLK comes out because in all likelyhood the items and gear you'll receive from normal quests on there would out weigh what you get now.

I'm not sure how badges and stuff go or what items to farm and stock pile or whatever, but I'd suggest do that? :)

Gearing now is absolutely pointless. Level 77/78 greens are equivalent to Sunwell gear. PVP gear/T5 will be replaced within the first few levels of Northrend.

Yes, I know I will be replacing all this gear by lvl 75-78 or so, but given that it's been stated repeatedly that the leap in gear level between BC & Wrath is nowhere near so pronounced as it was between Vanilla & BC there is still *some* point to improving gear now.
And this is also to give me something constructive to do other than farm dailys for cash and levelling yet another alt. I've got 6 lvl 70 toons already, & will probably level a DK too, so that's already more than enough work there thanks :p

In that case I'd just check out Maxdps.com, set your filter criteria to normal/heroic dungeons and see what 5mans you need to run.

Maybe try getting your blue dungeon sets? I don't see many people with the full sets and they look pretty sweet and original?

Items like badge epics t5/t6 will last till at least 75/76 by stat comparison so im sure it'll spare 3 levels

only people who will have a slight advantage when wotlk comes out is the T6 people those items help till level 77ish some of them, if you don't have them then don't stress the 1st quest you do in WOTLK will most probably give you a nice green item equal to a sunwell MH

Your doing already what needs to be done, get your professions maxxed, get mats to get the initial level done after wotlk release etc.
Get loads of gold, if you think TBC had gold sinks you aint see nothing yet. Retraining to fly at level 77 is 900g new mounts all the way up to 14k for the 3 seeter Mamoth etc.

Farm your reputations as the new achievements system will be implemented. I would not bother with crafted gear, unless you have the gold for BT/SW crafted stuff and even those are not really worth it for a few levels. The first quests and instances in WOTLK is such that people that never did raids in tbc can do them (the area are even level ~69)

do your dailies on all your 70'sget them all into sunwell, ogri'la and skettis. make as much money as possible. Levelling is gonna become a huge money drain, and like mentioned already, most of your gear is gonna go bye-bye fast.

You DON'T need money to level up you can get to 80 in greens at the same rate as a level 70 in epics that's the biggest myth ever

youre gonna replace your gear often during the lvling process. you need money for the gems and enchants. You could of course lvl all the way in greens, but then youre still gonna need money for the your gear once you hit 80.

either way youre going to need money. the more the better.

It's almost irrelevant of "how long" your gear will last. No one is gonna sit and chill at lvl 75 and do other stuff, everyone is gonna -RUSH- through the levels like a steamroller. Blizzard has made it absolutely pointless to be anything less than max level, a lvl 80 will outgear+outskill you.

So whether T6 lasts you till lvl 77 or 78, pointless, you're not gonna need your T6 at lvl 77 anyway because you won't be raiding or pvp'ing...that i can guarantee you. The only people who will be pvp'ing will be lvl 80 and probably halfway with some T7 set they got off some 10-man.

Max your stats/skills, horde your gold, however i wouldn't bother spending alot crafting gear now. Do heroics maybe if you just want to do something, but otherwise just wait for Wrath.

your gonna need gems at level 80 yes but I would imagine the gold you get from quests will be around 5-10k if not more won't be a problem

Hmmmz

Think about it dude ... BG welfare epix you can get quick quick ... what's more, its PvP gear. It gives you resilience etc, which is what you need only when mobs hit you. Which doesnt happen much in raids unless you're the tank ... oooh but wait, we're questing again when wotlk comes out. That means your pve gear is useless and pvp will help you all the way!

Besides, you can get a new piece every week from doing BG's & dailies on the isle in between to fill the bank.

People say your T6 gear wont last long, but think about lvling 60-70 ... when I was lvl 69 i still had lvl 60 blues (not even epics) which worked fine. It's going to take you a good while to get to lvl 80, so having BG gear to help out now will not be such a bad thing.

You probably didnt do any instances along the way. I had the same deal with my hunter, levelled to 70 questing outdoors only. My druid on the other hand ran every instance she could get into and because she was a tank, got into a lot of them. Same with my shammy healer. Got a lot of good gear along the way that was oodles better than my hunters old grotty Tier1/High Warlord stuff. If you don't rush the 70 to 80 WotLK grind (and I really wouldn't if I were you, you'll be missing out on a lot of fun stuff) and take the time to rn some instances along the way, I'm pretty certain about 99% of any currently available entry-level epic gear will be replaced within the first few levels.

exactly a odd pieces here and there will still be useful but the majority of the gear will be upgraded imo keep gold now, although I'm pretty sure those quests give up to 25g a piece its probably gonna be something like this,
the gold from all the quests up to level 80 will be enough to buy a northrend flyer not to mention dailies and so on will help you a lot.
