Hyundai H1

Hi all

I am looking at getting a bigger vehicle to accommodate our growing family, and am considering the H1 2.4 Petrol as the budget does not stretch to the diesel model. I have seen varying fuel consumption figures, from Hyundai's claimed 10.2l/100km to owners claiming 5km/litre... Can anyone provide real world figures?

TIA
Haz

I have driven in 2x H1's. The first one had just over 100k on the clock and it's front suspension was knocking soon loud under my feet that I thought it was going to separate from the body.

Second was the shuttle bus from the Balalaika Hotel in Sandton and I was in the back row. This time it sounded like the rear had something big come loose and was knocking below my feet.

Put me off them indefinitely.....

My company has one. has about 80K on the clock as its used a lot for running clients around. I drive it often and love it. Really worth considering as a family car in my opinion! Spacious , comfortable, easy to drive.

No suspension knocking? I think the vehicle is awesome and there is serious value for money in the pricing (incl 5yr/150k warranty) but obviously the 2 I was in have made me nervous to ever consider owning one......

Uncanny that both had knocking underneath.

I've heard the petrol is a dog compared to the diesel, perhaps look for a second hand diesel?

Friend of mine has had one for a couple of years now. No complaints, no knocking and the interior is still in excellent condition despite regular abuse by the kids. I've been in it a few times and it's a great car for road trips (reminds me of the old VW Caravelle's of the 80s and 90s). It's a freaking huge tank of a vehicle, but it's comfortable and seems reliable enough.

Is this the new Hyundai H1?

Photos of the next generation Hyundai H1 bus have emerged on the Internet, thanks to a Dutch website. Check out what we know so far.

The Hyundai H1 has proven popular in our market thanks to its versatility. It was available in numerous flavours: a passenger bus, a commercial van and a blend of the two, with the Multicab. It has also been a winner with the ride-sharing application Uber, who use it for UberXL. The Hyundai H1 has been around for some time now and is overdue for an update.

Thanks to Dutch website AutoWeek.nl, pictures of what looks like a substantially revised Hyundai H1, or as its called overseas, the Grand Starex, have emerged. The big changes are visually at the front and the design language used brings it more in line with the rest of Hyundai's portfolio. Claims that it will be available in nine, eleven and twelve-seater application have yet to be verified, but it's certain it'll still be the practical champion that we've come to know and love. Under the hood, the engine is expected to remain unchanged. From the driver's seat, you can see the instrument cluster and entire dashboard have been overhauled in favour of a more modern look.

....

Interior looks too nice in my opinion. Price is going to jump. Hope they aren't going to screw with a winning formula and make it a Viano competitor.
