Hyundai i10 Radio Problem

ah ok thanks, yeah this is harder than looking for gold. Didnt relies it would be this hard considering that its such a common car.

Yeah, I still can't believe how difficult it is to find this part. I remember seeing similar stuff last time I looked. I think it would work but I'm not sure I want to risk using AliExpress.

Sorry missed the solution regarding the fix ... my i10 radio also stopped ... it comes on from time to time gives me about 4 seconds to set the station and volume then freezes for the duration of the drive ... or just does not come on at all.

There is no solution besides trying to replace the head unit with something reliable. Hyundai produces some real rubbish. Together with the other issues I'm experiencing I'm seriously starting to regret ever buying this poor excuse for a vehicle.

Thanks for the info but I'm not in that area. I've also given up on replacing anything. I just ended up buying a cheap bluetooth dongle to plug into the factory aux port which thankfully still works. This has of course created a ground loop that generates an annoying high pitched whine through the speakers so now I have to get a ground loop isolator.

The SO, didn't seem to have any problem finding a double DIN facia plate when her I10 radio died. After we were quoted R23 000 for a factory replacement, she decided to just go aftermarket. The facia plate, double DIN sony head unit and wiring all that hooked up into the steering wheel came from the same aftermarket shop. If we could get it in Slummies, you should be able to get it anywhere.

I hope someone here can give me some advice.

I bought a second hand i10 from a Hyundai dealership last month that came fitted with a factory head unit exactly the same as the one pictured below.View attachment 622572
Everything worked fine for a week or so except that the steering wheel volume control would sometimes not work or would decrease the volume no matter which direction it was pushed.

Recently, the display has started periodically flashing "USB" and switching source to USB or "SDPLAY" despite nothing being inserted in the USB port. Yesterday these symptoms worsened and the unit would power off then back on every time I pressed the steering wheel volume control. This morning it didn't seem to have any of the aforementioned symptoms anymore.

Interestingly it seems that both times that the symptoms started/worsened the car had been parked in the hot sun for a few hours. I'm not sure if this might be a factor.

I have been trying to find any info I can on this particular head unit online but I cannot even find a model number and I am loathe to contact the dealership as they are useless.

Does anyone here have any experience with this particular head unit and know if this is a common problem, have any tips for tracking down the source and/or how to prevent it?

First 6 months, this should be covered by cpa, if its with in that, make it the dealerships problem

So I have the same problem with my volume control in my i10... 2012 GLS .. the volume up button doesn't work.. I have to use the volume button on the radio?? But all the other controls on my steering work... What do you think could be the problem??

If I press the CLK button, it reflects the time, and if I attempt to press or turn the vol/seek/tune buttons, it either increases the vol, or goes back to station tuning. I was confused by this as well when I first got the car. Just another poor and frustrating design choice by Hyundai.

The CLK button only shows the current set time. In order to set the time you have to hold the volume knob down until you hear a beep and a submenu pops up on the screen. An option to adjust the time will be somewhere in that submenu.

Old thread I know, but hoping to get some guidance,
I just bought a seccond hand 2013 I10 1.1 for my daughter that has the same radion as discussed in this thread.
I see that there are phone buttons on the radio, but I have no idea how to pair to the radio from the phone. In some later models there is a setup button..but on my radio(same as in the pictures in the thread) there is no setup button.

Any idea how to pair a phone to this unit?
