I've got a 2014 Hyundai Grand i10. Some time ago, the indicaters on one side started flashing rapidly. All of them (front, mirror and rear) work, but Flash. It's deffo not a blown globe. Strangely, using the hazard switch all works as it should.
The agent says it's the indicator unit inside the steering column, but they did not physically check.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Could be a short, take your car to an auto electrician and get them to check it out? Shouldn't be to expensive. When I drove my 2011 Fiat Panda, every time I would put the brakes on, my rear wiper would start flicking around like a wildly happy dog greeting its owner coming home; incredibly annoying. Cost like R700 to fix it.

Thanks. Sadly, being an unemployed pensioner, money is a big issue. My feeling is it's a relay.

The rapid flashing happens when the resistance is not the same on the two sides, the could be some contact in the wiring somewhere.

It is just odd that a 2014 car could already be having such issues, the quality of cars nowadays is terrible.

Did you change the bulbs recently?

Changed globes more than a year ago. All was good until 4 months ago. I still don't understand why the hazard lights work perfectly

Don't want to derail this thread, but something I observed with my last two Ford's, a Figo and Fiesta, they chow brake lights, like every few months I'd be changing them. Nobody I ever took it to could figure out why.

Could be the hazard has it's own circuit, some cars are designed in such a way the the car computer can communicate with the hazard switch and activate it if necessary like when you are braking hard in an emergency.
