Hi,

I recently purchased a new Elantra and was disappointed to note that no maps were included with the onboard navigation system. I have tried contacting the dealership but can't seem to get an answer from them - they asked me to call back on Monday.

Is there a DIY method or any free software that I can download ?

By my reckoning it should be a standard feature (unless it uses something like Apple / Google Carplay. Even then it is crappy. What does the manual say? Perhaps you have to sign up on a website somewhere to lock the car to your territory to get the maps? *just some thoughts*

Elantra models don''t have CP or AA. The latest 2019 facelift models just launched are rolling with it.

Unfortunately best option is dealer(s) or dedicated Hyundai forums.

Knowing Hyundai it's an option extra.

[I own a Hyundai Accent and dealt with their greediness when looking at buying a Tucson {which includes the Nav unit standard on the top tier abroad, yet costs R20k+ extra at the time}]

Our maps just stopped working randomly, took it for a general service asked them to take a look and they just threw their hands up. There is nowhere to download the maps and we must wait for 'when they get an update'

I must say the service from Hyundai in general feels like theft.. Had a baggage holder clip break in the boot, costs 200 to replace it they charge 800 to do the installation.. Told them to fck off

I bought an Elantra Sport in December 2017 and at the time it came standard. It is now an optional extra R2500 for the maps on the SD Card. I must warn you that you are better off with Google Maps as the maps are not the most up to date.

out of interest, has anybody figured out how to activate the navigation using the "phonelink" app.
managed to get that far, but no navigation functionality, screen mirroring etc.
Just seems to be a silly app to play music etc that you can already do via bluetooth.

or is there a device one can buy that allows the ICE system to recognise android etc.
Surely there must be a way to access the ICE software?
