Hyundia, Haval or something else

Some napkin maths:

Haval Jolion

Life of vehicle (KM)
200 000
Litre/KM
0,12

Petrol (Rands) life of vehicle
552000
Hyundai Creta

Litre/km
0,07
Litre/life of vehicle
14 000
Petrol (Rands) life of vehicle
322000
Difference (Rands)
230000
Up front Haval 1.5 Premium (Rands)
390000
Up front Hyundai Creta 1,5 Premium (Rands)
469000
Up front Hyundai is more expensive by: (Rands)
79000
Over life of vehicle Haval is more expensive by: (Rands)
151000

That is excluding questionable long term reliability and terrible resale.

I suspect the Chinese will do WAY better with EV's but the 1.5T in their current vehicles is a dog.

Hmm and if you take the Haval HEV version instead?

****

Never mind I thought the price was under R500k but I see it's gone over since final launch.

Cars.co.za managed between 6 & 7 l/100 with the H6 Hybrid. So similar to the Creta fuel consumption. The Jolion Hybrid is R110k more than the Creta.

I had a Jolion. Not sure what claimed consumption is, but if it's less than 11km/100 then they're lying. I wouldn't trust manufacturer claims on consumption from anyone.

The latest generation is quite different and the Hybrid more so.

Cars.co.za is also independent.

BUT that would make me question the real stars of the Hyundai a bit rather than the Haval.

Same time as long as it’s not unreasoned the Haval is guaranteed to have a higher spec and more day to day comfort.

Hello all.

Looking at replacing the wife's Jazz.

Was looking at the Hyundai Creta.

But then I came across a few +-2019 Haval H2s I think it is

way cheaper also.

How's the Havals in terms of maintenance, resale and service costs?

There. Fixed.

It's a no brainer honestly

Err? Why not Suzuki?
Warranty wise and resale value wise Suzuki are up there.
Top 3 seller in SA too.
Agree 100%. The Japanese make terrific vehicles. OP already approves Toyota which is Japanese so why not Suzuki?

No offense but Suzukis are rubbish, they are made really cheap. Toyota doesn't build any sub R300k cars anymore.

My wife has a Hyundai Khona, also a brilliant car. You really can't go wrong with Hyundai.
Well, Hallo, I have this exact version. Brilliant car, decent boot, seating is comfortable. power is decent.
Three people and the weekend bags all fit decently, with the cooler box. aircon on, driving at 120kph and i get about 6.5litre per 100 kilos.
Brilliant

The Baleno is not that bad but yes its not Japanese Suzuki. There are Maruti's. Suzuki REALLY need to improve their naming as well. Baleno, Celerio, Fronx, S-Spresso, Polony, etc.

Please explain how Suzuki offers a longer warranty than Toyota. You Mam are seriously the worst saleslady I have encountered thus far this year. Emagine how disappointed I am right now :(

Test drove one back when it launched. Very nice. All over a good car. Only problem for us was the rear seating. Made for midgets. We have two boere teenager boys and the rear seating just doesn't provide enough leg room.
We went with the Creta which had much more space in the back and it too was a great car.
