Monday and Wednesday are my Raid nights on World of Warcraft (Ulduar 25).
Last Wednesday i was unable to participate due to latency problems and now again last night. It is a huge blow for my raid group to be one man down.

The thing that really frustrates me is my IBurst was perfect for the last 2 and a half months. Now all of a sudden Raiding is not a possibility. I would like to know why ? This has happened before were things were great then one day it just goes down the drain and it takes weeks to get rectified. Now i am not gunning down IBurst cause when it is good, then it is really good for raiding but i can't have this be so unpredictable with latency issues.

I am not asking for 100ms ....... the normal 500-700ms is fine for me.

Bottom line if this does not get fixed in the next few days i will have to somehow get out of the contract that i upgraded to 3gig cap to play wow as playing wow is not working atm.

Someone please give me hope or tell me straight what i need to expect.

Regards Mananger.

This is seriously sucky, sucky sucky tried to play last night latency anywhere between 450ms and 4500ms cmon wtf SA Broadband and Telkoms suck realy good fodder to motivate for emigration just to try and get 1 / 10 000 000 000 of the tech international :(

I share same for last 7 days, its annoying when you cant do anything :(

My friends who are on WebAfrica Saix switched over to WebAfrica MTNBusinnes (Verizon) since last week and had not problems, but they say Saix is still messed up. Unfortantley we dont have any alternatives here on IBurst so we pretty much stuck with this problem until someone fixes it. What worries me it been 7 days now. I too have let my guild down not been able to raid for last 7 days.

Yes i had to spend 3 and a half hours last night just providing buffs to the raids, that is all i could do. i am at the level in WoW where i need to raid to progress. So again if i can't raid then there is no point in playing WoW which means no point in having my IBurst account (which is why i got IBurst).

Just a suggestion to IBurst, could you please release a news letter of some sort that would notify us users of issues like this, which will save us the embarrassment of going online and then bombing out. So we can let the Raids know before we make ourselves look like retards.

Can an IBurst rep please notice my post and give me an update or even a little sign of hope ?? I did not make this post to complain, i made it to voice my problem and find a solution so a response will be appreciated !

Regards Mananger.

|Well actaully lucky you, I havent been able to do 25man raids now for more than 2 months in bellville Cape Town.
I only register now with my guild for 10 mans. (cause 25mans just disconnects when there is a lot happening ) its not my PC that i can say cause it never did that when i played from a friend`s dsl.
Iburst has definately lost it touch. It was never a great alternative to adsl but i got it cause i needed the mobility.

The fact that i cant watch youtube videos without the infamous "buffering" messages and pauses just says that iburst is the cause and im not getting what i used to get from them as i never got that until about 2-3 months ago.

Shaun can you please tell me if you are supposed to see buffering pauses when you watch youtube videos? If not there might be something wrong with bellville Iburst and it has been a problem for a while.

Hi guys

I have communicated your comments and have requested another update to the issue from the upstream provider.

Apologies for this inconvenience to your gaming.

I am hoping that they fix their systems soon.

Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for the reply Shawn, i have heard a lot of good things about you. If you could get an ETA from those people it would be appreciated very much.

it is horrible being a customer and not knowing what is going on with the product you are paying for. So if we can get a rough ETA or regular updates i promise you will be getting less complaints.

Guys, that is what I am pushing for. I can work with an ETR.

My nagging will pay off.

With regards the YouTube buffering issue that Dusk is experiencing, I have requested further tests down there.

Will let you know.

U is da Man Shaun :) It's nice to get response like this at least we know some - one is chasing up on our behalf.

Why do i lose that much speed on international on speedtest.net ?
Im losing almost 300kbps from local to international?
Could that be the reason i am am getting disconnects in wow or buffering on youtube etc ?

i would just like to know ... i am using a UTU modem, if i were to use a UTD would that make things a little better ? Is the UTD a usb modem or ... ?

Regards Mananger

Personally the UTD (the Big Desktiop modem with an antenna thicker than a parker pen) gives better signal. Specially if your inside buildings or maybe have lots of Obstructions beside your house (Ppl next door got a 2 or 3 story house, or maybe in CBD/town etc).

My pings to gaming servers (CSS) is normally aroudn 50-80ms *local gaming server*.

Will try out a few international one's tonite (Eve etc. I got a trial account. Haven't played it yet)

My 2Cents.

Shot thanks dude for the 2 cents. :)
I have very little interference from buildings etc.

Shawn could you give me a little info on :
Could i change my UTU for a UTD on an existing contract or do i need to wait till the contract needs to be renewed(in one year)?
And do you have an update on the possible upstreaming issue ?

Tonight is raid night and by the looks of things it is a no go again for me :(
