I am not sure where the problem is - could it be Afrihost?

Hi guys

I'm been battling for quite sometime. I'm having various issues. Right now I have both my 4mb DSL line and uncapped account are with Afrihost, using a Telkom DGN2200Mv2 router.

Issue one: Speed

Issue two: Line/modem

Seems like if there is too much traffic, my modem resets

This is starting to drive me a bit nuts. Afrihost seems to be well regarded, and their support has been quick but still hasnt resolved the issue.

I suspect their might be a modem issue, however can this all be related to it?

Sound like a congested exchange to me, had a similar problem with my router. Tried sorting it out with Telkom but they told me that the best chance I had of getting a stable line was if I reduced my adsl speed... note that I live pretty far from the exchange...

The problem was sorted after the nation wide adsl reset. Do you mind posting your line stats?

I dumped the Telkom router and swapped it for a D-Link DSL-2750U. Below are my SNR and attenuation figures. Am I right in assuming that:

SNR: 169
Attenuation: 190

Are actually:

SNR: 16.9
Attenuation: 19
