I am now officially engaged

While I don't agree that it's the right thing to do, if you're both happy about it then congrats (again)...

So what length engagement are you looking at? Or are you just playing it by ear?

So is it really all that it is made out to be, I do not know one happy married person but I know loads of happy single people...

For someone who was 'unofficially' engaged, you sound surprised that she said yes :/

Congrats though :) Hope you have her pre-trained to bring you beers so there's no awkwardness after the marriage ceremony :p

I'm also engaged and marriage scares the crap out of me sometimes. Hmm most times actually but the time comes when you gotta decide "keep her or lose her". If I'd gotten engaged 2 years earlier I probably would have been over the moon too. But the fact is relationships require hard work and their are lots of thorns among the roses that sting like a bitch.
