It's chipped from Defcon 5, which offer a two year warantee.
2 years on the chip, and 2 or 3 months on the console? correct me if i'm wrong.

no way a chip getting near my Wii. as unlikely as it seems, what would happen if future firmware releases bricks your console?

theres friggen BUCKETS of games for the Wii, but a real shame that 90% of them are PANTS. its that 10% that i'm after (of which i have about 4 titles)

pants sl adj :
crap, p!ss poor, syn. knickers, “it’s pants!”, “that was pants!”.

i suppose it is Brit speak. but i'm not a Brit, just like using some of their sayings

They're things people wear on their lower regions to keep their legs warm.

Some people regard them as optional.

In game terms it means "That which absolutely most utterly sucketh".

And yes. The number of great games on the Wii can be counted on one hand. There's a couple more 'good' games, but from there the slide into mediocrity and otherwise sheer utter rubbish is a slope more akin to a vertical drop.

nahhh, theres about 10 good games i reckon :p or at least, 10 i would buy hehehe

the first number indicates the ranking on metacritic, the second number the average scores:

1 Super Mario Galaxy 97
2 Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, The 95
3 Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition 91
4 Metroid Prime 3: Corruption 90
5 Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure 87
6 Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock 85
7 Super Paper Mario 85
9 WarioWare: Smooth Moves 83
11 LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga 80
14 Geometry Wars: Galaxies 79
16 Medal of Honor Heroes 2 78
18 Battalion Wars 2 77
20 Mercury Meltdown Revolution 77

as i mentioned, i only have 4 now, but next year i will buy another 2-3 games. yeah, the wii is inferior to xbox and ps3 in many ways, but i still find it fun :) i wouldnt have been able to get the full enjoyment out of an xbox (not enough time on my hands right now)

Hell this oke is a real deal einstein......

Can't we send him overseas so he still has to be in school?

I wouldn't recommend the Wii if you only intend to play alone, but it makes for a great toy if you've got friends playing along. I've got my PC for serious games, and the Wii to keep the crazies entertained.

Thats the thing, one of my friends has a wii and for the first month or so we couldn't get enough of the thing. Now however, its just gathering dust when we're over there. I've heard the same thing from some colleagues.

And my friends got all the latest games and some imported ones so its not that he needs the lnewer games.
I suspect the wii as a party machine was just a fad. To me it looks like it'll sooner or later have to start competing with the other consoles as a one player machine.
