I cannot be arrested by k*****s

Yea, except I'm white and I don't get offended by anybody calling a white person whitey or boer. It's funny how some people think "boer" is derogatory. I don't think a single white person minds being called that...
That's for you. Unless you intend doing some sort of official survey, then it remains your opinion - as you are entitled.

Sackboy, yes. What is your point? My opinion happens to carry some authority in this instance since I am a part of the demographic that is being referred to.

I suppose etienne thinks the behavior of the baas was rational?

Straw man.

I just said that I can't believe you are shocked by this. This happens every day to every race right around the country.

(Talking about the racial abuse. Not the gun in her face part... Edit: But I guess it can be argued that in this country every race does get a gun in their face every day anyway...)

Edit: Mods, please merge threads.

Same old racist shyt.

This thread will go on and on till it get's personal and people get banned and the thread closed. All of this over a Sensational article. I tried to derail it but got asked by a Mob to pls keep it on topic. So much for trying to help you guys ;)

I also cant say it...it feels wrong to me :o

I don't care if you call me a Boer :/ I don't see it as a bad word.

Hell, you can call me a Rock Spider, Cracker, Dutchman, [insert white/afrikaans derogatory term here]. Doesn't bother me.

I completely disagree with what happened, no human being has the right to treat another that way. i hate racism in any form.

But what strikes me as funny is the following,

we heard a lout banging at my neighbours gate and went outside to check what was going on and found a random shirtless drunk with a panga harrasing his dogs. We locked the dogs away and asked him to leave and we were going to call the cops, he then told us he would come back and kill us and the rest I could not quite understand. The police eventually arrived and started talking to this guy, and they told us he had done nothing wrong and we should just leave him be which for obvious resons we didnt except and insisted that they remove him from the street. The two officers did not respond well to us telling them how to do their jobs and became rather aggressive with us.... yeah and things got worse from there, ended up that me and my friend became the ones almost spending time in the back of a van. Racism is happening on both sides but funny its never recognised

with BOOBS? that is an off topic topic :p

anyway, people can have a civil discussion and politely make suggestions without bringing their own personal prejudices and woes into this. they don't HAVE to be personal :p

There is lots if incidence like this, specially from the police:

recent Bloemfontein newspaper report alleging Constables Mokwena and Mafabatho of the Odendaalsrus police station had called a farmer a "white dog" and said "all white dogs in South Africa will be killed".

It seemed the reference to white people as white dogs was becoming more and more prevalent, especially in the police service.

Overbearing, domineering old school middle aged men with loud mouths are something I have very bad experiences with myself. I hope they throw the book at him and justice is server harsly... :)

The point is this. If you are not offended, it does not follow that other people in the same "demographic" are also not. That is why rules and laws exist, not just for your own benefit.

We get this as well. Tramps, drunks, strollers, trespassers all have the right to cause kark.

A good tip is never to discuss police procedure or law with anyone below the rank of Inspector.:p

Qft, especially in SA where its:

Day 1 - Start police training.
Day 2 - Here's your gun eish now remember, shoot to kill! :D

1) I don't think it is a racial motivate instance
2) I don't think what a big deal of this instance is.

first of all, make yourself colour blind before discuss of this issue.
it is because in SA, no matter what is the nature of an instance which will escalate to a racial issue. It is not health to the society and it is not rational thought.

a) the whole story is from Director Eunice Makgwane - if you are Makgwane, will you told the story on your side?

b) we assumed it is exactly of what happened as Makgwane' story, let we see what happened.

She said her neighbour's eldest son climbed over the wall and politely asked her to give the ball back, but she waved, indicating that she was on the phone. Makgwane said she was dealing with a municipal official over a power failure at her house.

i) question -> why she knew the boy understood what she was trying to say by "waved"?

She alleges that the younger son, a 16-year-old whom she described as "ill-mannered", became impatient.

ii) why the boy was becoming "ill-mannered"? What did she do to the boy?

"He climbed over the wall and said 'hey meid, gee vir my my bal' (hey, maid give me my ball) twice. I was so shocked and stunned that I did not know how to react. Here I was being belittled in my own home by a young boy. I stood against the garden wall and asked why he was being so disrespectful. He kicked my thumb away from the wall," said a tearful Makgwane.

iii) obviously, here is the problem started, but she never told us why the boy reacted like this, what she did?
Common sense -> you will not change your attitiude 180 degree if nothing happened to you. Right?

I don't want to go further, they just like two childs shouting to each other....

finally ............

"The father came with his two sons and opened my gate throwing the padlock roughly on to the ground. He came into my yard asking for the ball. I had taken the ball out of the pool and into the house. He grabbed me by my T-shirt and shook me, saying I was not the first 'k*****meid' he had ever dealt with. I was horrified," she said.

Makgwane reached into the boot of her car for her pepper spray to defend herself.

"I told him he had no manners and was trespassing and that I would use the pepper spray on him. They all went to their car and two of them came back with guns, cocked them and pointed them at me. He said that next time he would shoot me and called me a 'k****r' again.

I am 100% sure she did "something" to the father and son, she made them very angry, then the father had his gun and pointed to her. Sad ending!

Makgwane was wrong.
father was wrong.
son was wrong.

the story is very simple: a boy hit his ball to his neighbour house, but the neighbour did not give back his ball and did something to insult him, and he was angry and told his father. His father came back to want the ball back but his neighbour refused to give the ball back once again and insulted the father. The father was very angry and used his gun pointed to his neighbour. END OF STORY!

Is that a big deal? This type of stories happened around the world every day! Why it is a racial issue? If you put a "white lady" instead of the "black lady", it is the SAME! The only different will be some "racist" comments. ask yourself if you are angry, will you do something similar? (you are pig, dog, cat monkey....., white jerk, black jerk, yellow jerk etc........ fish, crab, jellyfish more seafood? ) Everyone is the same. yes, used gun may be over-reacting but you have to understand impulsive behaviours are unpredictable.

I also don't know what I am going to do ..............

I agree in many cases, often racial slurs are just used because they're the most offensive. If you could say something worse then they would.

But in any case the question is would they act this way with white neighbours? It seems like they have a real problem with her being black, calling her a meid so early in the conflict. And then obviously the "we can't be arrested by ******s" remark confirms this somewhat.

I actually wonder what the real Afrikaans words would have been, I saw a translation the other day : "laat hulle vrek" - let them die like animals, of course this is a translation made for sensationalism.
