'I cannot stand white people'

Main point here....Blacks and whites cant get along.............. FULL STOP

Simple solution is that if you create a set of laws, rules etc that are inline with our constitution ie no discrimination based on gender, age, race, religion etc. YOU MUST apply these equally to all people who infringe on those laws irrespective of the their gender, race, age religion etc. You cannot apply the law selectively if you are to maintain the constitution and equality of a country or organisation.
In this particular case the law as wel as internal discplinary codes are very clear about the procedure and steps to be take. Appy it without question and then people will respect this.
Word to the "non-white"person in question. No matter what you think and feel, sometimes you have to keep it inside you. This is what most whites, coloured, indians do all the time.

I agree. You can't tell someone who they should or shouldn't like. And even if you could somehow do this, you definitely can't stop people thinking it. Unfortunately, double standards will remain. Even though there is a "Black Music Awards", if someone were to start a "White Music Awards" I doubt it would receive the same support.

I agree,it won't be much of an award or have much support..and 99% of radio stations will agree too.

So you're saying many black people enjoy alternative rock music and pop?
Many black people listen to Britney Spears? Seether? even older music like Smashing Pumpkins or The Doors? Many black people listen to that? I doubt it and I'm not making this up, I'm saying this because every black person I've known and granted these are people in their 30s and up - they don't enjoy this type of music. Heck often I don't enjoy much of alternative music and definately not heavy metal stuff but typically this is more white music than black. People just have different tastes - and there are exceptions in terms of musicians - Michael Jackson playing mostly white pop trash yet he was a black dude. Most black people will prefer R&B/rap/etc.

There are overlaps but musical tastes still follow ethnic lines to a large extent. It's just not PC to label anything White etc - but in Europe you do find European music awards - or the EuroVision Song contest which is all pretty much European type music - you won't find reggae/rap/r&b/kwaito there.

How does one condemn a double standard when they are foaming at the mouth with racist rants? This thread was absurd.

More absurd than the person who concludes black people don't like pop music because his black friends are too shy to admit they have Coldplay on their iPod.

It's the old "my best friends are <insert race here>" argument racists use before going on a racist rant... *sigh*. Can't say it's surprising how the thread turned out - actually the 1st few comments following the OP started it all.

I have to disagree. Come visit me, my next-door neighbours love miss Spears and Celine:sick: Even stranger is the ABBA stuff they play:D I have to listen to their shyty music ever weekend:mad:

And i have to still hear " African " music.;)

No they have to kill me with " My heart will go on and onnnnnnnnnnnnn" And Hit me baby one more time... then i feel like hitting someone.

"A black employee hurled racist remarks at another employee in August this year, saying that he could not stand white people and also could not stand working with white people,"

Give the guy a break! Everyday he has to do the most un-African task of all - MAINTENANCE. No wonder he is pissed. :p

/afro-pessimist flame suit on

Actually the original article is racist but that doesnt fit in with your agenda now does it?
No need to go off on me old chap. I was merely pointing out (as has already been done on page 1 by various sensible posters) that you don't condemn a racist pig by joining him in the mud bath... that way no one is able to tell the pigs apart;)

Shocking thread, but at least some of you made me laugh with your double standards.

Young South African whites had nothing to do with Apartheid, but can claim credit for the invention of air travel through race association?

Haha. Gotta love that.

LOL!
Dude, it's funny & ironic at the same time.

Nomination for post of the day/week/month/year in the CA:)

music knows no boundaries . Nowadays I listen to the white music more than I do black music . The white boys cant sing like the blacks but they make good music . I dont know if its called rock but I do listen to the chili peppers , parlotones that kind of stuff since I stopped listening to rap music some yrs back . Reminds of the Orania resident who had a Lionel Richie collection but was preaching the I hate blacks rubbish .

And we will continue to claim all inventions from the past that we had nothing to do with until we are no longer blamed for the past that we had nothing to do with. It makes perfect sense. Either we are responsible for everything or we are responsible for nothing, and aslong as we are being blamed, we might aswell take credit too while we are at it ^_^

You can't have your cake and eat it too
