Friedrich Roggenkamp, 75, was turned away from the voting station at George Campbell Technical School in Durban on Wednesday morning after IEC systems reflected that he was deceased.

Roggenkamp had registered to vote on the last registration weekend at the same station and has voted several times. "I can't vote because I'm dead... they think I'm dead.

"I have always voted, look at all my stickers," he said, pointing to other registration markers in his ID book.

Roggenkamp said that come the next elections he would likely not vote and intended returning to his home country of Germany, after living in South Africa for almost 30 years.

There will be a lot of people turned away today, for not being on the voters roll. A town near me had a lot of issues with people suddenly not on the voting roll, and friends of mine who registered then did the sms check couple weeks later only to find out they were not registerd, having to re register.

ah well that's a convenient trick. proudly brought to you by the . . .

I would like to see the demographic of these people.

Ie whites and brown and black people

If white and brown people where the highest percentage of the not on voters roll kind of errors then it will leave a fishy taste.

Yip,already 16 people confirmed in potch that were sent away. Many more will follow, and many won't even be heard/reported about. Crazy thing is we know one vote makes a difference seeing the DA has lost a ward before with 3 votes:twisted:
