I worked with a chap once who was part of / followed some sort of religion that required him not to wear shoes, ever. As far as I remember it was some sort of Judaic sect. He would wear expensive suits, high end shirts and silk ties but no shoes ever. I met his sister once when she dropped something off at his office - no shoes either!

Now that is faithfull... a girl with no shoes.:D

I also walk barefoot whenever I can but O hagans complained last time I went barefoot.

Heh ... don't worry dude, 1st thing I do at home is take off my shoes. I can spend the whole weekend barefoot unless I have to go out somewhere ... even when I go to SPAR, shoes are optional.

When I lived in Germany, I used to walk through their street markets barefoot ... now you can imagine the looks THEY gave me :p

I don't eat with my feet or greet people with it, so I can't see how it would be considered unhygienic...sure it's dirty, but so what? I live 300m from the beach, so I'm quite used to walking barefoot through the bush.

I go barefoot at home but i'll never be seen in public with no shoes.

I don't normally go out without shoes on however on the odd occassion, I've had to nip down the shops quickly without shoes. If you think it's frowned upon in SA you haven't got a clue about the reactions you get at Tesco's here in the UK :D

why not wear crocs? I also hate wearing proper shoes, but crocs are so comfortable and airy and they protect your feet from the dirt on the floor.

O'Hagans ... Oh, a fabulous place. There use to be one in Stellenbosch in the middle nineties. Was my favourite drinking spot. Then it disappeared. :(

crocs? are you f-ing insane my friend? i'd rather go barefoot.

But you look like a total REEEEETARD!!!!

:sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::sick:

DOWN DOWN DOWN to those disgusting sorry excuses for footwear.

Get yourself a pair of Hush Puppies and you'll never even notice you're wearing shoes.

Then go an look for some sandals. It is not easy to find something that looks classy but with some persistence you can find something that looks good for office wear.

Barefoot by day and commando at night - catchy book title :)

Nike makes a lightweight slip-on that is pretty skid-proof on wet shop floors.
They look good and are very comfy - Sportmans Warehouse stocks them.
