If you have a powerful PC with a good graphics card then you are probably a gamer anyhow, then hell yes. Personally no, I don't have much time or energy for games and still have to figure out what this can do.

I gather that for people that want to fly but can't for whatever reason, the VR flight sim is as real as it gets.

Once of the best(if not the best) experiences you can currently have in VR, is in a game called Elite: Dangerous.
I am not sure that will be your cup of tea but its worth mentioning.

Had an oculus rift and fast gaming pc. Gave up vr for a bit. The screen door effect annoyed me

The best use I had for my Oculus Rift was Elite Dangerous. Played every evening for a long while. It's just amazing flying around in space in VR. Haven't played in a while however.
