Hi Guys

Well i got the ADSL when it first came out couple years ago...

so lets see...

basically i pay mweb for my adsl...thinks its R145 or R200 then i also pay telkom for the line rental of the ADSL...

nowadays i see people like MWEB and other ISP's have a package that includes the line rental and adsl account for just R145

So how can i change to this without having my internet offline for more than 1 day or so...i communicate alot on the net and i need it as i have some business that i do over skype daily...

anyone have any suggestions for me.

Wait... you mean you want to change TO mweb????

Why TF would you want to do that???

Wait till monday for WA to announce new prices. Then compare those with afrihost.

Well if you want to stay with mweb then you can ransfer your dsl line to mweb and there shouldnt be any break in service. Check their product page for their different packages and prices.

There are plenty of cheaper options beside Mweb. The real questions are 1) What do you need the account for? Downloading, browsing, gaming etc 2) How much do you want to pay? Bear in mind it's around R265 for the slowest adsl from telkom + phone line. I'd suggest Afrihost if you just want a couple of gigs a month @ R29 per gig (and a valentine's special of R14.50 a gig) they're the best. If you want uncapped I suggest SAOL or Sainet both are R499 including adsl line but minus the phone line from telkom.

It's a matter of what you want and need. I hope that helped in anyway :)

Er his post is pretty clear, he has ADSL with Mweb and he wants to move to something cheaper with the ADSL line included, from any ISP.

Well Afrihost makes it pretty damn cheap even without moving your ADSL line, so you wouldn't lose even a day on your connection just cancel MWeb and signup with Afrihost when it's done.

Cybersmart do cheap 384kb +1-3GB packages, which sounds like what you're looking for. The wait shouldn't be more than a day or two for the ADSL line transfer.

I would also wait for WebAfrica to release their new pricing as it might be very good.

What about SOAL Summer Slam
It includes 384 line rental, 3GB of Int and 50GB of Local ALL FOR R249

Mweb is one of the most expensive ISPs in South Africa... I'm just wondering if he realises that.

Stay far away from MWeb and TelkomInternet. I suggest you move to another ISP.

In order for us to assist you, tell us the following:
- what is your monthly budget for ADSL?
- what speed line do you need (384K, 512K or 4mbps)?
- is it for business or personal use?
- how many other people will be sharing your connection?
- how many GB per month do you use currently?

If you can answer that, we can advise you on the best deals to go for. I say deals coz there are quite a few great ones out thhere. It just depends on your needs...

EDIT: You might also want to wait for WebAfrica to announce their new packages, as mentioned. They are bound to be pretty good, and will hopefully beat Fuhrer Afrihost's R29 per GB pricing.

just my opinion and my apologies to the mweb rep in advance, should he happen to read this :) but pretty much ANYONE is better than them.
i'd suggest you stay far away from them or any contract

anything cheap since only my parents will use it because i am moving out
- what speed line do you need (384K, 512K or 4mbps)?

384K so they can contact me using skype only

- is it for business or personal use?

Personal
- how many other people will be sharing your connection?

None
- how many GB per month do you use currently?

I use like 3-4 but they will just need it every week to use the Skype Video Calling plus check mail etc
