With reference to iOS: "Flash does not run on a mac". Flash runs just fine on macs just not on ios. And here the distinction is relevant, we have flex apps running as well.

With reference to the android app: "This user has issue x with the ipad app". Then I investigate the issue on the ios app and only later learn they meant it was on the "samsung ipad".
