I hate January

People really need to learn responsibility :p

+ 1000.

Can't say the month makes much of a difference at all for my budget. Only thing that's taken a sizable knock off my finances is having to furnish the new place, and that's not even a 25% dent in the budget.

IMO people spend spare cash on frivolous things when they should be saving it.

I kept back 1/3 of the salaries of my floor workers.
They where a little unhappy on the 20th when I paid them, but I could see the relief on their faces when I paid them the difference this morning.

December is such a tough month for us that I really dont have money to loan them during January. I used to pay them their full salary early in Dec, but even tho I warn them that I wont be able to help them in Jan they still spend all their cash and come crying to me for a loan in Jan. Then I end up loaning them cash I really cant afford to and I struggle.

It seems to be a nationwide epidemic.
What's sickening is how these people blow their bonuses on presents and booze in December and then come January, they complain about having to spend for the kids education.

Yep Some people even get triple checks, I.e a 13, 14th and the regular and still blow it

It shouldn't be a struggle - even though you get your December salary early, you really shouldn't be spending it in December as it's meant for January's bills. If you do get a bonus, put that into savings or spend a part of that. Spending December's salary is irresponsible.

What's surprising me is that no debit orders have gone off yet bar credit cards... I thought those run automatically on the 1st regardless of day of the week or public holidays.

I saw a guy with the exact same nick you have here, at least I think it was

It's quite common to see a cerberus nickname. Don't be fooled:

Cerberii are 25% less funny, erudite or charming on average than cerebii. Fact.

No I am pretty sure they will run tonight, they don't run generally on a public holiday
