Today is but the 3rd and I'm broke and there's still 28 days until payday. I need to dig around when I get home to see what I can sell to Cash Converters / Crusaders

/cries

I never learn. I think starting from the end of this month I'm going to open a fix deposit or 32day notice account and deposit money in it until the 2nd of January every year

So glad I took it easy.

Back to work today and I could see the depression in peoples faces while I was driving to work.

Arg January isn't that bad, its still a slow month... open up a fnb flexi fixed , should sort u out .....:)

Worked just about all of last week so getting back today wasn't major. Budget is not too bad either. Will defo survive till pay day.

I learnt a long time back to budget for the silly season. I still do and so January is a normal month :)

We already budgeted for January.

Bought a lot of food in December while the money was still there. Then we spend it on other things.

And fuel's budgeted for as well - as long as it doesn't go up with a whopping amount...

*Getting a felling of de ja vu*

Every year, around this time, someone posts a thread like this.

We're all in the same boat; just keep rowing.

I have a huge problem. I was under the impression that January was going to be slow and I would lounge at home to try and stretch the budget...But I met some nice girls this holiday and now I need to entertain. Clubs, restaurants etc. In other words, bring out the CC...fml haha

I kept back 1/3 of the salaries of my floor workers.
They where a little unhappy on the 20th when I paid them, but I could see the relief on their faces when I paid them the difference this morning.

December is such a tough month for us that I really dont have money to loan them during January. I used to pay them their full salary early in Dec, but even tho I warn them that I wont be able to help them in Jan they still spend all their cash and come crying to me for a loan in Jan. Then I end up loaning them cash I really cant afford to and I struggle.

Haha...Im more than happy to take the knock. I wont go overboard though. 1k or 2k max. I can easily sort that out in Feb. I just dont like using my CC, and only for emergencies...and this IS an emergency dammit! :)

We're doing great. Best month we've had in years financially. Managed to pay off a lot of things, buy a lot of things we had desperately needed (like clothes and toys for the boys), and should have enough to stretch easily till month end. Then 1/2way through this month I'm going to be starting my new job which means holiday leave reimbursements and 1/2 of my better salary. Hoping still to buy a car this month if all goes to plan.

Um...sorry to brag it's been an incredibly tough year. There were moments I didn't know how we were going to make it.

People really need to learn responsibility :p

Thx :). I don't play competitively. Are there some imitation cerebii gaming on the local servers?

I would have been just fine except for SARS fisting me anally.

Going to take three or four months to recover.
