i find ESPHome much easier to debug and configure.

I don't have any issues. Works pretty well reporting to OpenHab.

Once configured, Tasmota or ESPHome rather, I have full control over the unit, and can add/modify the unit as I desire.
If you're running the stock standard Sonoffs, then I suppose no problem,... kind of driving a Smart car, if you want something better, to be able to tweak, Chevvies are the way to go.
