I jumped.

I beg to differ, the 18-55 lens can't compare to the 2 I have listed on that special.

Re the warranty, I'm not sure what you mean, I would also hate for you to send any camera from us to the states, what would be the point of that?

None of our items are imported from the USA , most are direct from Japan and generally come with an international warranty.

Local agents hum and hah if they have to repair items that they haven't ripped you off from, and in cases like that, you would send the goods back to us and we would handle any repair returns, which would generally be quicker than the local agents any how.

Re the 18-55 kit my price is a lot cheaper, but I will advertise it in the hardware section later.

This has got nothing to do with lenses. The last time we spoke, you specifically said that you don't offer local repairs/warranties, that I'll have to send my goods abroad to have them repaired. Has that changed since the last time?

So the R/$ is crashing but instead of our prices going up, they going down!!
These items retail for between R19000-R21,000 BUT you can have the lot for only R14,995, and everything is in stock for immediate delivery, so you could have it all today!

All items brand new, in original retail boxes, with all supplied accessories

For R14,995 you get the following:

1. Brand New Canon 40D body (with battery, charger, strap, cd, mauals etc, RRP between R11500 - R13, 000)

2. Brand New Canon 75 - 300 III USM Zoom lens (RRP between R2500 - R3500)

3. Sigma for Canon Wide angle 17 - 35 F2.8-4 DG lens (RRP R4900 - R5900)

4. Lowepro Transporter Camera strap (RRP R390)

This offer is not available on the website, exclusive for myadsl, while stocks last!

75-300 III USM is better? Bleh. That's a cheap lens. If you want to offer something decent, offer the IS USM version. The Sigma I can only find the EX DG version which is around R5000, but yours it the DG version and after doing some research, it appears that this particular model has been discontinued, according to the Sigma website. You can have a look at all their lenses here .

benny.co.za does import most of the items it sells into South Africa, on a parallel basis and by default it must be assumed that all items on benny.co.za website are imported.
We will assist the purchaser in terms of warranty and after sales service, however the authorised South African distributor of these products is under no obligation to honour the manufacturers guarantees/warranties or to provide after sales service.
If for any reason the local agent can’t assist with warranty repairs we will then send the item back to our agents for warranty repairs. You return the item to us and we handle the return. If the fault is found NOT to be caused by a manufacturing problem and covered by the warranty then you will be held liable for all international shipping and other costs. The standard warranty on all items is 12 months from order.

still sounds like over seas to me, whether is Japan or USA dont matter. :o

Benny i think you need to be a little more clear please...? cut the salesman's pitch and tell us exactly wat after sales service you offer....

dont take offence to this please, i only want some clarity because like any newbie, i have saved my cash for a long long time to be ready to purchase a kit

No offence taken, but the only way to answer would sound like a sales pitch, so forgive me in advance.

Answer has been sent to you in a pm as not to highjack this thread too much.
