I love Oblivion

From what I could tell, OOO basically made the game harder by fixing enemy's levels.

In normal Oblivion, enemies level with you. You can basically do anything at any level. Harder enemies only start appearing as you level up.

With OOO, you can get pwned if you walk into the wrong cave.

I didn't like it.

morrowind?

many say its better than obliv

but both games are so buggy, just buggy

I really enjoyed Oblivion but got fed up after closing too many oblivion gates. Then when Shivering Isles got released I played that, was great fun again :)
Really an awesome game. Guild quests were quite fun, especially when you're in the thief guild and mage guild at the same time ;)

On my last play I reached the maximum number of oblivion gates closed. I think it is 60. I started using the ghost cheat to go directly to the main tower and take the sigil stone.

I pre-ordered this game, then found out it killed my AMD 2600+Barton with 1 gig ram and Radeon 9800XT, so i upgraded to a 3800+, 2 gig ram and 7900gt. Played lovely at 1280x1024(still had a 19' screen then) i was rather dissapointed in the game itself. The combat wasn't an improvement over morrowind, which was the main area i felt needed tweaking in morrowind(there are mods for it though)

Graphics were good(still are) The voice acting got irritating very soon, like they didnt have enough time/money to use a few extra people for voices in game?

The main story was a sorry excuse for a main story "oh shucks, there is a new oblivion gate over there, go close it" it gets rather boring after the 3rd time in a row. Side quests were a different story, a lot more engaging and interesting.

I installed a lot of mods my second, third and fourth time through :D that really changed the game, i really, really loved it. i used OOO and a crap load of other mods(can't remember them all) i would like to play again some stage, but just the thought of having to schlep through the stupid dungeon again gives me stomach aches. It reminds me too much of baldurs gate 2's intro :p

I also started playing Oblivion about a week ago. I got to the part where Martin Septim turns into a dragon.... Don't like that much but overall the graphics and sound is great to me!

If you've reached this far after a week, it sounds like you've either been playing non stop, or are focussing mainly on the "main" storyline. I look forward to coming to this part eventually myself.

After some more playing, I have picked some bugs here and there, including one where my journal doesn't always get updated after talking to someone, which means I must go and repeat the topic with them. Minor, but gets irritating. It seems to have come about after I did my fresh install and did the Knights and Shivering Isles expansion pack.

Any way, I'm really enjoying it playing from scratch, I'm noticing far more things, but at the same time I'm doing things faster by focussing on one area more or less instead of running helter skelter all over the show.

I do agree about the voice acting though, it's fairly easy to pick up that a small group of actors did most of the work. Pity that Patrick Stewart wasn't given more lines, he really has such an amazing voice. Sean Bean's voice really fits in well, it suits the fantasy world pretty well.

Patience is the key to playing this game lol :)

Finally sorted out those lagging issues /me was b*tching about (turns out I didn't 'activate' the Quiet Feet mod/fix :o) ........... anyway, I've started the game again and wow is all I can say when this game has the system to run it properly ... I'm being blown away all over again :D

.

I'm not entirely sure how you play Knights or Shivering Isles, but it somehow seems intergrated into the main game rather than being stand alones. There was a quest in Anvil that wasn't there before the expansion packs for example that I think is related to Knights of the Nine.

SI start with a quest with a message like " a strange gate opened on a island"
If you go trough the gate ure in the Shivering Isles.

i admit the games are a bit buggy but the morrowind story line was better and had more choices like u could join evil if you wanted to

deviating a bit off topic .... but saw a "morrowind done quick" clip, where they complete the game in something like 7 minutes o_O pretty amazing

Oblivion has the Dark Brotherhood ...... that's evil.
