I need a controller

Hi, I want to control a spot light to move left and right, by pressing a botton and it moves left, then it must stop, then press again move further , about 90 degree to the left and 90 to the right. I seems like a stepper motor is the answer. I will buidt it or buy it, but don;t know what it is called. Light will be 12 volt. Anyone know what I need to search for.

A gear motor will work as well. You can make a noninterference motion system that essentially moves 180 degrees back and forth and then use non contact limit switches to determine the 2 locations.
