The wireless radio on my trusty D-Link DIR-655 appears to have died. So, I'm looking for a decent router to replace it.
I need:
I stream lots of media and regularly backup large quantities of data. Both wirelessly. My house is not big -- about 85sq.m -- but it has some pretty thick brick walls.
I don't mind replacing my DIR-655 with another one, but I think it's still only Draft N.
I quite like the D-Link DIR-826L. I like D-Link generally, but I'm not against something else. I had a bad experience with a Linksys router, but maybe it was just a cheapie.
Thanks in advance.
I need:
- 802.11n
- Gigabit Ethernet. At least 3 ports.
- UPNP
- Guest Zone / Virtual Network / whatever it's called.
- I don't know if I need Dual Band -- both 2.4 and 5 Ghz -- but I guess it will be good for future-proofing. Maybe. If it's going to be dual band it should be simultaneous, right?
