The invitation still stands!
I've been looking at the vanguard 263AT with the ball head attachment. Must say it looks the business although it's a bit pricey.
Thanks B. I haven't forgotten.
I'm just thinking that the size of the Benro is quite similar to that of the SLIK I picked up this weekend. It might just be a tad to bulky for my backpack.
While checking out your tripod at ODP the guy showed me the Benro MeFoto. Very nice tripod and has an extra feature where the leg and centre column detaches and combines to make a monopod. Something I use quite a bit with the sport photography.
It can also do some very awkward leg positions with all three legs able to go 180 degrees. If that make sense?
That does look like a nice kit.
That does look like a nice kit.
^^^This is actually a crap tripod. I played with it today but there is so much movement in the legs that I won't use it again with the 6D. I will keep it though for mounting the flash and for my video camera.

At last...
How does it compare in height with the Benro?
Benro is definitely a lot higher.
Specs say it goes up to 1.6m but when I have it fully extended and the camera is on top, I have to drop it down slightly to get a comfortable look through the viewfinder.
My guess is that you would have to bend your knees a bit with this one.
I need a tripod - or at least to borrow one. Just got back from the beach and the sea is riddled with bioluminescent something or other - plankton?
Weren't tripods only for sissies..?![]()
For exposures under two minutes…
So you can keep it perfectly still for 119 seconds but no more..?Need more training on those quads triceps biceps and lats I think!
