A couple of years ago I bought a m/board with the intention to build a pc, but I then bought a complete pc and never got round to building one with the m/board. Now I want to build a new pc so I was hoping to use it. The problem is that it has been at the bottom of my cupboard for a couple of years. Will this board be working after such a long time? If not, will I ever be able to revive it?

I don't want to go buy a processor for it if it's dead and I can't fix it. I'm not a techie so please help.:o

It shouldnt be damaged if unused unless physically...it will take 65nm C2D processors...a lot floating around classified.

Happy pc building and component hunting :D The most of with PC for me is the building of it from scrap and making it work like a beast :D

If u can borrow any mate's 775 cpu just to test first..

Thanks, my problem though is that my friends don't have intel based pc's, so I can't just borrow one. Will the bios not be a problem?

Get a processor and some ram , it should most likely work and even if it doesn't a new motherboard is pretty cheap. Just depends on the features you want though.

Well if it supports 1066fsb and its socket 775 it should support all the 65nm CPUs, not too sure about the 45nm ones.

If you can get a 2nd hand one close by, tell the teller your prob and hopefully he'll let u test it first.

it was in its box right? if so there is no reason it shouldn't work
