I need pots and pans

I think AMC have more marketing hype than real functional value

The Neoflam stuff from Makro is pretty good value for money....

They're decent quality and not stupidly expensive.

I also just love the way they do business...

Bought myself a set of Wursthof knives, next day it was at my door in a nice big box, with a personally written thankyou note and all that... was just a really nice shopping experience.

We got a gift from someone via the site, they asked for our address in the evening and in the morning it was waiting at my office for me before I got there.

Not even sure how that is possible.

Oh and Wursthof are also great, we got a knife for R700. Its over 1k now... so kind of like an investment.

Theres also NMC, which is similar to AMC, but a local company, google nmc exquisite..

Hie yourself off to your most convenient Adams Discount Centre (there's one kinda squirreled away in Fourways). Leave any means to pay for anything behind when you go. :p
Agreed with Adams, amazing stuff! If you want an inside contact, drop me a PM. You know us Indians and our contacts hehe...

Also can vouch for AMC. My mum has some pots that are at least 23 years old. One of them had to have the handle replaced, they did it free on 3 days. But the rest look very good for their age. Most of them in are in daily use also.

My SO bought her mother a Royal albert cup that the maid broke from Adams, 25% discount of the R600 marked price. At least she wasn't buying one of the R3000 a piece crystle glasses:wtf:

I also hear everyone say, "get AMC, it is the best with a life time warranty..."

I'm so dismayed atm, some random company figured they'll deduct their payment now. a day before I get paid. now I'm stressing about petrol. I'll go to a scrap metal yard and get a lead thing and cook on that. "free" sounds good atm

Maybe you should rather post in a 'how to budget' thread :)

BTW, I spoke with the shop drone about those De Buyer pans: for all they've got a steel handle with a silicone coating over them, they're oven-safe. And, as if that's not enough, by design they end up being non-stick ...and *steel* implements-safe, so no more having to molly-coddle the pan with those silicone/nylon/fibreglass (!) utensils, you can get something autoclave safe :p

Also, some un[-]boxing[/-] packing and intro pr0n:

Er, I budget perfectly thanks. I even have income/expense projections going 12 months ahead so that if I decide to spend R100 now, I can see what kind of effect that might have 12 months down the line (if any)

The problem is just these guys needed to make the deductions on Monday, on a different account, one that I keep for them specifically. I changed to a different account several years ago. This same company tried deducting R34000 off my account for a R110 invoice a few months ago, so much so that I had to cancel the card otherwise I'd have faced a very steep "debit order declined" fee from the bank. Same company, different division, 3 months later. Same crap. They charge a the account I changed from several years back instead of the new one that's been running for the past few years now.

Same ****, "billing issues, we apologize so profusely"

In the meantime, my petrol money I have left over is jacked and I go into the minus. Just because they can't:

a) Keep to the date I said I want to be debited
b) Debit me more than they said they would
c) Uses a random account almost every month

What kind of company is so terrible? Horrible service. You need to raise your voice at that kind of thing.
