I need Windows on Mac - what option?

Thx. But wont that method require me to reboot everytime I need to access Windows? Or can I then access it either way?

Yes, as Bwana says, after you install bootcamp, VMWare or Parallels allow you to access the bootcamp partition via the VM without a reboot - works very well.

Thx, checked Crossover, not covered.

I wanted to use my old pc's Windows, but daughter uses it to play games on the net, so I guess I will have to get another XP. Just still not sure if Parallels or Fusion.

Very much of a muchness - I see however that as a parallels 3 user, you have to pay for parallels 4 whereas with VMFusion, the upgrade to their new version 2 is free for older users - that might be a deal swinger.

I have tried both Parallels 4 and VMFusion 2.01 - there is no discernible difference in the running of XP in either that can make you prefer the one or the other.

Parallels give you Kaspersky antivirus for a year free whereas VMWare give you McAfee.

Go for the cheaper package... ;)

Just because its not covered does not mean it might not work - try it first - I have run unsupported software via Crossover .

Thx, will check first! Cap reached, will try tomorrow! Thx for all the advice everyone!

Just an update - tried Crossover, didnt work. Got Paralells. Works perfectly! Thx

I dont like Parallels Desktop, when I tried to shut down windows, it stops response every time, and of course the first time run the PD is very slow. Maybe VM is good choice, and fusion I hv no idea.

Well, have been running Parallels for a few days, all going well so far!

I prefer Vm fusion, but each to their own...And loading times with either app varies depending on how its setup, system resources etc. U would be amazed at what a bit of fine tuning to the VM software can do...
