I coined in on the 1R deal from afrihost, my gf plays wow and the performance on those R1 accounts have been better than ANY of the webafrica products, granted you can feel some throttling on the afrihost accounts. But in terms of gaming it tops webafrica. Webafrica have become bottom of the barrel in performance.

MWEB is even better @ WoW latency than WA at the moment.
 
Well i havnt touched mweb, but none of those beat axxess express+ in performance from my side. WA have oversold themselves so now there accounts are shaped/throttled/raped/etc/..

168ms. Dream. Round trips on the to EU servers will never be constant at those rates. Even with a proxy service, and im not talking about some tracert or ping from an ip, in game latencies because according to ping via the afrihost my ping to the realms are 150ms.
 
impossible seacom cant get 150ms to eu, even if it tried, i can get 160ms about to bbc.co.uk.

i do stay 3 kms away from mweb data centre, and wa data centre is in town somewhere.

Wow you're pretty ignorant arent you. a simple "ping" to a ip address is not true ping results IN-GAME. In game you have latency to the login servers then world servers, then instance servers, even raid servers. so please like i said show me a screenshot in game with 168ms mid raid.

yes but i do have shorter route to mweb data centre then to the WA one. ( could had a few ms), so i was just adding it.

25 man i get the same ms if it is bad nite it is about 180ms.

WA - 300ms+
Afrihost - 230ms
Express+ - 190-200ms

Another bull**** claim. Just cause it ain't working for some does not mean its the same for the rest of us.
 
pretty low, weird that it so low though, as the route seacom takes, is way longer then sat-3.

i get higher ping using any proxy, so i don't play with any proxy.

Perhaps for cpt residents WA is decent but people i know and spoken to that use it in jhb, its utter rubbish.

I am in the Cape and WA is flying for me at the moment. So yeah, it appears where we are in the country has a large bearing on the performance we are getting. People really need to stop with the blanket statements. Just because it is crap for a few does not mean its like that for everyone.
 
What is the details ?

I would like to ping it i, am on Wa and Afrihost..
 
For the guys who are having issues with latency, are you all in JHB?
Have you given our ADSL Department a shout to see if we can have a look at anything from our side?
