From someone I love.
I've had it for two days and I'm loving it. It's a Curve 9300, not top of the range, but great nontheless.

I have Vodacom BIS running and it's performing much better than I expected.

No. I don"t miss my Symbian Anna 5800. Hahahaha.

No. I don't want an Android or Windows phone either. The integration of the whole BB OS and apps is perfect.

Thanks for letting me welcome myself to the club ;D

I still miss the good old Stylus-Touch Windows Mobile 6.
Yes, It was clumsy and VERY resource hungry, and Web
Browsing wasn't perfect. But it had so many awesome Apps,
even DivX players were plentiful. I miss that.

What I don't miss was constantly having to recalibrate the
Touch-Screen, and constantly "Pocket Answering" my phone.

I envisaged a very different thread. I thought you were going to say that you got a BB as a gift and you want to throw it away (because it's the right thing to do) but you can't because it will hurt the person's feelings and you wouldn't be able to explain to them how the phone went missing.

:p

Thanks for the comments. I have BB OS6 on the device and just like a PC would, the boot up times increase with each reboot. I also have quite a few apps installed already with no noticible slow downs.

I have installed Opera Mini and use it as my primary browser as it is much faster than the native browser.

Real world internet speeds are about Max for 3G on Opera Mini. The Native browser is about 58 KB/s when running a speed test.

Downloads are a bit slow, but it seems that each day BIS feels slightly more snappy. I've downloaded 7MB in about 3 minutes and I have emailed 5MB attachments in under 5minutes (Gmail).

I am really impressed with the device and the network. I've installed GrooveShark Mobile Trial and have streamed music without any skipping or distortion for more than 30 minutes. :)

Do remember that VC does not count certain apps under BIS, you will be billed OOB for that.

This tells me that symbian is still really bad...

Oh and I manage to pocket dial/answer my 9300 all the time... :(

I'm on Prepaid Chilligirl, so no OOB for me. I know to check that an app uses BIS and Grooveshark does.

Rorz0r. Why don't you just lock the phone by keeping the Mute button in?

Time to look for new loved ones if they sart giving u all the cr@p they don't want... :D :D :D

Anyways enjoy ur new phone till it freezes and u have to pull the battery 2 - 3 a week and ur small buttons start breaking or the red or green call button goes faulty. Or till you find out u can't get any good apps or o well with blackberry the list goes on....

Enjoy it Tera, all the problems I've experienced over the years of using Blackberrys fall squarely on Vodacom's piss-poor BIS.

Thank you Bwana. I had so many issues with my previous phone and this new BB is a real breath of fresh air. I just have to remind myself at times that I don't need to check my data balance ;p

I DO lock it. Fortunately it makes a noise when it dials out giving me an opportunity to take it out and stop it.

Clearly you haven't used an Android phone but it sounds to me that you really wanted a BB and hope hope for "somebody you love" you thanked them properly.
