I seem perma congested

Most people are surprised when they hear themselves speak via a recording. The trick is to practise until you're happy with how you speak.
Is this based on previous recordings?

TBH I'm always surprised when I hear a recording of my voice, it's hard to accept anyone could sound so amazing, then again I'm surrounded by South Africans so the bar is already pretty low, but I digress...

See an ENT if you're concerned.
I know what I normally sound recorded, and it's not this nasally

I've heard my voice a couple of times before, then a few years back I started having people asking me (usually when on the phone) if I am either sick with flu or sleeping, or just woken up.

I decided to go for a checkup and the doctor picked up sinuses. The sinuses seem to be getting extreme (don't start me on the changing of the seasons) in that they are really irritating, I find myself rubbing on my nose often. My recorded voice these days is definitely nasaly. Just this week my daughter asked if I was sick when I am not even having any flu symptoms.

These work wonders,

but I am afraid that if he is going to snort Brooklax through the nose that he might go limp forever.
I have an extremely high spice tolerance

I was listening to a recording of a meeting recently and half way though this winey nasal voice cuts in and I was wondering who it was, because I don't remember this guy.

Pretty sure I sound worse. And now my nephew is harassing me to get with the times and use voice notes :(

I had the same problem as OP. Thought I was seeing an ENT for a deviated septum and to attend to my chronic rhinitis, but I had a (non cancerous) soft tissue growth in my nasal cavity.

See an ENT.
