So, my Samsung A5 fell in the pool. I dive in and took it out.
I removed the sim and memory card and put it in rice. The flash came on. As I cannot remove the battery, and got no insurance on the phone, I am hoping for the best.

Did it have a body glove cover on?
Those really help to keep the water out.
Because you can't remove the back it's going to be more difficult to dry it.
Forget the rice and put it in front of a fan rather.
Keep turning it throughout the day.
Do not switch it on for at least 24 hours, preferably 48 hours.

the rice will only work if you leave it over night, you need time to allow it to attract the Asians to fix the phone

My Samsung Note 2 died a year ago after having a brief swim. Stripped it, washed it, left in rice - didn't make it. RIP

The warranty is void now anyway, so open the phone up and don't touch it for a week.

My dad jumped in the pool the once with his
Sony Ericsson K800 in his pocket. That phone was all kinds of stuffed afterwards. He was saving my daughter from drowning though.

Open it up quick and dry it out with a hair dryer, moderate/very low heat. Maybe you'll be lucky, maybe you're already too late.

About a year ago my S3 went for a swim when my drunken friend pushed my drunken self into the pool.

Flash also went on and off a few times. I took the phone apart, and left it in the sun for a day. Worked fine afterwards :erm:

What I recall is me unlocking the screen lock underwater. :wtf:

Slim chance it will work again, chlorinated water is highly corrosive, you best bet after a mobile phone has fallen into a pool or sea water is to remove the battery if possible and rinse with tap water. Allow to dry
