You think it's just coincidence that at the same time 50,000 people get TopTV, Multichoice have a massive influx of people downgrading their DSTV packages?

I don't think many...
I agree, its mostly people who did not have DStv, but want satellite, who are subscribing to TopTV. And I also agree that its also a bunch of DStv moaners who rushed out to try TopTV and are now moaning AGAIN about TopTV.

I'm not downgrading to anything....The premium package is steep at R529/m, but its much cheaper for me than a 4mb line and uncapped account. It does not replace LIVE sport broadcast.....and its going to get better with WS HD.....DStv will push the envelope even more...

I would guess round about 15 000 because alot of people are running both services at the same time. I think DSTV subscriptions would drop post World Cup.

ok, let's also be clear....if Multichoice lost 10 000 premium subscribers, it represents R5 290 000 per month that they lost....which is not something to smile about....

I would not imagine many at all. Sadly.

I suspect many Top TV subscribers took it in addition to DSTV. So I'd agree that they probably didn't lose a whole lot.

i doubt they lost any, however, if top tv's service is good, people will start to move over.
