i5 750 vs AMD 965 BE

yeah I think the bios is thinking it is reaching 70 an then shuts it down instantly.

Coretemp readings the same as AMD overdrives.

yeah dual channel Corsair 1333Mhz.

Sounds like the bios is glitching in its temp readings. I have exactly that cpu and it idles at 36 or so and reaches...maybe 64 on absolute max stress. Flash bios and check again.

Set the bios to shut down at a higher temp. It is not reading the temp right.

I had a similar thing with my q9550 cept no program read the temp under 45 while the bios said 31 :D. Stress test it with prime95 first. let it run a good couple hours. You hooked the 8 pin up to the cpu right?

8 pin power ? yes. Downloading BIOS now.

Shiit, will try later, let me go to work before I am fired.

New bios didn't help, will showing high temperatures.

Brawl like i said sometimes there is just a problem with the sensors like my q9550. Run prime 95 dude. if there is an over heating problem it will show you. Reset the bios to stock, run prime 95 and see if it restarts.

Will do.

Yeah I know about BIOS sensor issues, my E5200 and Gigabyte G31 did the same.

Where?

The stepping is 3 - so it should be the C3. My stepping is 2 - i.e. the C2 140w variant.

ok thanks.

What are your temps like? Mine tops out at about 63deg under load.

Yeah 63 is about right. I'm at 3.6ghz and it reaches a bit higher - 70 or so with the stock cooler.
