I can remember that, a couple of years (or was it months?) ago a lot of us would quack "IBIWISI" at the announcement of "imminent" broadband (in whichever form) price drops. I was one of them. Sceptical, to say the least, that we would get cheaper broadband. Or fatband. Or high-speed internet access.

Now that it's actually happening, I do believe that we will be seeing better speeds at cheaper prices soon.

Agreed, though, we still have a long way to go before we get connectivity they enjoy in Americas, Europe etc.

But still, it is a long way we've come ever since iBurst/Sentech started up.

So looking forward to the next couple of months, this is going to be very interesting.

yeah can get 10mps uncapped R900 a month(excluding telkom analog line rental), could not get that before!

chance of your line actually syncing at 10mps , is quite rare :P

Nothing grates me more than those naysayers.

Whats the point of commenting if you are just going have a hollow rant.

Makes it sound like you don't even want the upgrades.

Just remember, the first world is also advancing, and it seems at a much faster rate than us. In order to catch up our speeds would have to massively increase and prices drop massively, at a faster rate than theirs. Going from 1 to 2Mbps in a year's time isn't exactly stellar when other countries are rolling out 1000Mbit fibre connections for cheap cheap.

IBIWISI :D

Jokes aside though, we still have a long way to go. The best connection available to me at home is still a 4096/640 line and that's just dreadful for a business.
